Yeah I'm basically all about getting my mage to 80 at this point then working on getting geared for raids.

I actually just used DynDNS and set up a vetrillo server on my pc so I can use vent with my cousin while we play

That's smart. I was trying to do that back in the day but never knew. I always grabbed some random pug group's vent and used it until they realized

The home version of the server software only allows 8 connections though.  If our guild gets into some serious raiding me and my cousin might get together and buy a server that can do 25 or 50 connections at once.  A 25 connection server is about $56 a year for the cheapest I have found.

Last night was the first I've ever used vent, it's so crazy.

It's definitely helpful. Using it during raids is pretty awesome. Get to know some cool, uncool, and weird people. Imagine it during the 40 man days

I'm soooo damn close to 79.  Less than 2 bubbles on the XP bar to go.  I should be rested enough to have the 200% xp bonus until I at least get there if I run a few randoms tonight.  I got my Tailoring up to 425 and made a full set of Frostsavage Battlegear so all that time spent has finally started to pay off with gear that I can actually use.  I've got a few recipes for epic pieces when I hit 80 too.

Nice. Tailoring pays off. I never got my tradeskills high enough to make anything good. I always wanted to but it always became a hassle when you had to farm the mats on your own time. Wish it mostly dropped while questing. Now go level in Storm Peaks! It's really easy.

I'm not sure where we're gonna go next.  We're in Camp Tonka Toy or something now

I don't farm mats though.  I pick up Frostweave while questing and anything else I buy off the auction house.  It did cost me about 1000 gold last night to get up that high.  Made a full set of Frostweave bags too.  Any frostweave I get from now on is going toward making more frostweave bags for the auction house.  They go for 75 gold or so each.  There's no profit to be made from buying the mats to make them like there is buying netherweave cloth to make netherweave bags, but the cloth I pick up should get me a nice bit of cash flow.

That's the way to go. I had my tailoring high enough for Nethwereave bags in BC and it was a huge income.

I should start spending some of my money on things like that to get more income. I sold a really big BOE epic a few months ago for 9k

Tried to do my first heroic and got kicked.  Everyone else was way overgeared (all 6000+ gearscore) and kept complaining my dps sucked.  Granted they were doing 5000 dps to my 1500, but I've got no gear yet, which is why I was doing heroics in the first place.

Gearscore is such a dumb system. People follow it way to much and it hinders people who have just hit 80's progression. It has so many flaws. Gearscore only tells what people have ran. It doesn't tell skill, which people think it does.

Do ICC normals. Every loot is epic. Then get a few peices/triumphs and then start doing heroics.

the funniest thing about WoW Elitists who do stuff like this, is they think they are the most skilled videogame players on the face of the planet...

but in reality WoW is one of the easiest games there is.

I know.  The one DK when I said that I had just got 80 and didn't have the best gear claimed that he could out DPS me even if he had a similar gearscore.  As if I didn't know how to play my toon.  It's an arcane mage ffs.  It's 3 buttons at the most

Just ticked me off since before I was doing heroics I was at the top of the DPS charts nearly every fight so I know what to do.  It's just these guys were very well geared.  We wiped toward the beginning and the tank blamed me for pulling aggro.  Somehow my DPS was trash, yet so high that I could pull aggro from him.  :wtf:

you gotta consider that for a majority of the players, WoW is the first MMO they have ever played, so they don't know any better.

oh, and your tank sucked if he had aggro pulled from an undergeared Mage when he is overgeared.

I didn't pull aggro, I didn't even cast anything that fight.  He just thought he was so leet with his 55000 health that he was gonna pull a lot at once and the dumbass ran around a corner and out of LoS of the healer.  They may have been a party together because they all seemed to blame me for everything that went wrong, even when it was obviously the tank going out of line of sight.

I thought to myself gee, this is gonna really suck trying to get geared if this is how everyone is going to act while I don't have the best gear.

I'll probably run the mage through a random tonight for the daily frost emblems then do my daily fishing and cooking quests, then switch to a lowbie.

Just found out a friend of mine has been playing wow for the whole year. We used to play about a year ago then we both stopped. We did refer a friend together with 2 other friends. The bad thing is he's alliance with 2 80s; a pally and a priest. I might reroll with him come the expansion, or sooner.

I'm thinking about doing a faction change and server transfer on my Mage.  Gnome on a decent pve server.

WHUTT !?! really?

The friend I know is on Mannorth which is a PVP server. He's been on his pally like none other recently. I might transfer over there if it comes to it but I'm going to talk to him about it. You should consider that server if you are interested and that way we have another person to raid with.

I'd do pvp if I had to, but only on a n ally dominated server.  My Mage was originally gnome, but frostwolf is horde dominated, so I faction changed to undead.

word. It was a suggestion because IMO I enjoy pvp. It gets annoying leveling alts but overall its so fun being able to fight an ally randomly.

The thing that sucks is its 30+ dollars to faction and server switch.
