Are one of the front runner for Schmidt?

Anybody has a link?

Is that true...would love to trade for Schmidt.

I read somewhere that the Giants are asking for two everyday players and a top level prospect. With the Nat's that would look to be possibly Church, possibly Michael Hinckley, and another current player on the team. Too much in my opinion.

One thing that occurred to me - and this is TOTALLY a guess - is that Felipe Alou always liked Armas.

Armas is a FA at season end BUT I would guess that if Giants wanted to sign him as a FA he'd be happy to stay there.

Course they don't have to trade Schmidt to get him as he's FA at season end anyway and the SF GM may not be as enthusiastic as Felipe is (or was).

Still maybe the right propects and Armas might land Schmidt.

Hard to see anybody else taking Armas.
