Nice K to finish the game, almost missed it thanks to mlb-tv lousy timing.

Anyone know the time for the quickest game played this year? Start to finish, this game lasted slightly over 2 hours.

That should be the game of Pedro against the Braves, like 2 or 3 weeks ago.
The complete 2 hitter (92 pitches).

Edit: On August 15th Pedro pitched an 2.01 hours complete game against the Braves (5-0 win).

... O well, nats streak is still in check. Only 25+ left, to win the wildcard!!!

On the radio pregame show, Nationals hitting coach Mitchell Page, who was with the Cardinals last year, was interviewed.  Asked about what he did to improve Soriano, he said "Well...he could have played worse...We're glad he got better, but he could have played worse.  That happens..."
THEN, when asked about next year, Mitchell said, "Well, we're not out of it YET.  We could still win 25 consecutive games and get the Wild Card."

I like this man's attitude!  Maybe make him manager next year!
I heard Kearn's homer in the car, but I was blown away to read about Ortiz' homer!  It was funny how the radio guys did not SAY "no hitter" until it was blown.  They kept saying, "Only 3 men have gotten to base, all on walks."  They told everyone to stick around for the 9th inning.
NICE GAME RAMON!!!  THANK YOU!!!

Nationals are now 5-1 since the Caps ads began running on the left and right field sign-boards in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Methinks Ramon has earned at least a look for next year's rotation. He may be inconsistent, but he may be better than we can get this offseason.

What a great game.  I was there today in the front row in section 453.  Great atmosphere and just a shocking unbelievably good performance from Ortiz.  I have been to the Nats game on Labor day the last 2 years and we have won both games.  On NBC-4, they showed Jim Bowden pouring a bottle of water on Ortiz some time after the game.  Looks like tomorrow's game will be rained out so we may have our second double header in a week on Wednesday..
