Zimmerman on Morgan's throw to 3rd, when he should have gone to 2nd - "goddammit"

- Riggleman

 They should have piped in a Price is Right loser tuba after that line. Fail.

Ahaha.

"If I execute my pitches, it doesn't matter who's in the box."

- Strasburg

That's the swagger I want to see.

Probably not going to happen with Nyjer's bobblehead night on July 31. freaking Rizzo and Kasten are obsessed with Nyjer and his aura. They don't want to waste the bobblehead money or piss off Nats320 and the African Queen and the rest of the farside characters behind the dugout that suck up to Kasten and Tony Plush in exchange for special treatment.

You are my favorite poster on this board. Smart as hell, articulate, and when you're pissed off, you don't hold back.

Tyler Clippard on the DL? **** YOU RIGGLEMAN! **** YOU!!!!!!! You learned nothing from Wood you stupid sob. Hey, he's pitching great, use him every night even when he starts struggling. He clearly has a problem Friday night and gives up runs in one inning? Throw him out another inning. Damn you Riggleman.

Walker, not Clippard.

Walker, not Clippard.

Yeah, I saw Tyler flash on the screen and automatically assumed the way Clippard's been pitching. Then realized there wasn't a hullaballoo yet and went back on my DVR and felt like a fool. Feel free to ignore me. After the past four games I'm ready to pounce. Walker is totally out of left field. can't even recall the last time he pitched more than once a week.

I hope the gonzalez fanbois are happy. They got their wish and gonzAAAAlez showed why he should never start. If he scores that runner, maybe strasburg doesn't crap the bed in the 7th. We can't afford to start him again even with desmond's troubles. You can't have wil nieves-lite in the lineup and expect to score.

Strasburg didn't crap the bed. The defense did.

Knight said he's probably the second best fielder on the team, behind Zimm.  Kennedy and Desmond can't hit, and Gonzalez is a better fielder, so what other option is reasonable?

Like, I want Rizzo to do something, but he's in a really tough spot. Guys who were said  to be solid players to build around are playing terrible. But we don't have ANY good alternatives.

Trade? For who, and what do we have of value that won't really hurt our team or farm system big time?
Demote? Who do we call up?
Bench? Gonzalez? Willie?

Ugh.

ATTENDANCE IN STRASLANTA: 42,889 (86.2% full)

I had the closest prediction in the YNOT contest with 42,037.

WE NEED THE COLONEL TO CALL OUT THIS TEAM,
AND I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT COLONEL SAUNDERS!

Strasburg did crap the bed. He had a 4 pitch walk to a washed up hitter then allowed a hit. He also allowed a hit to make it 2-0. If he doesn't have to pitch perfectly everytime, he would have been relaxed and would not have had a 4 pitch walk.

He gets out of the inning with no runs, if desmond fields the routine grounder hit right at him.  Double play, and the next ball in play was a fly out.

There is no guarantee he gets out of the inning after a dp. Hinske hit a flyball because it was a sf situation. He bats differently if he needs to get a hit. Though I'm sure strasburg would have gotten him out in that situation.

I don't see why we can assume the dp, that was a slow hit ball. Good chance there would have been only 1 out.
