i have a church, milledge, desmond, strasburg and like 2-3 zimmerman jerseys.  honestly don't remember how i got the church one?  i think a modell's sale or anything.

then i have a bunch of nats t-shirts (some w/ players names and some w/ out).  i love getting team jerseys and will continue to do so for the rest of my life.

i guess if you're worried about not wanting to "waste/spend" money usually play safe (a la zimmerman, ovechkin, cooley).

Get "Zimmermen" then

It is just not the same. I guess I need to find someone with mad sewing skills.

Which is it? Before you were nagging about about jerseys being "higher risk" and now you want "be along the ride with him".

I think this all comes down to SIC (Section 214 is cheap). ;)  :)
It's more just that I am cautious. It hurts having memorabilia of a lost player... My authentic Jason Campbell jersey and my dog named LaVar are proof... I guess I will hold off and hope Bernadina/Desmond prove themselves and/or Storen picks his # for sure

I did want to get a Marquis Grissom road jersey. The Nats road jersey looks so similar to an Expos road, that getting Grissom on it would be good.

However, he's no longer a coach with the Nats. So along that lines I'd get a Livan Hernandez jersey. I'm guessing I am one of the few on this board who view this team as the Montreal Expos and have nothing to do with any of the other teams who played in DC.

This is why I get the T-Shirts with the Names on them instead of Jerseys.  Although I'm real tempted to get a Zimm Jersey.  :icon_mrgreen:

NATIONALS:

Zimmerman - White shirt
Zimmerman - Blue shirt
Zimmerman - Freebie Red NATS shirt.
Strasburg - Regular back with name and number
Strasburg - Welcome to the Show T-shirt

CAPITALS:

Varlamov - Red T
Capitals Baseball Jersey with "LTSGOCAPPS ABOVE A 55.
MIKE GREEN HOCKEY JERSEY - WON FOR FREE.

I really want a Willie Harris one. He'll be gone soon so I'll probably go shirt when I buy one in DC.

Maybe a Desmond jersey? I will be buying a Bryce Harper jersey the second he makes it to the majors.

Good timing for this thread. I'm trying to decide between a Zimmerman and Pudge authentic away jersey. Two players who play the game the way it is supposed to be played.

I wouldn't even buy a #11 Zimmerman jersey.  Go for the team and not just an individual player.  If you really must get a particular player go with a Walter Johnson or Frank Howard jersey - someone who personnifies the team.

I like your 42 jersey. I would get Johnson or Howard jersey, but only if it was a throwback. From what I've seen there's a pretty poor selection of Senators throwbacks out there. The only one on the Nats site is a Jimmy Piersell jersey. Actually, they just added a 1917 jersey as well, holy cow. http://shop.mlb.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=1843334&cp=1895815.1902045

Who the hell is LaVar Burton?

Get out.

Does anyone have any experience with this site? http://www.ebbets.com/category/BaseballJerseys/a

Apparently they can make any throwback jersey.

The way I view my jersey buying is: When this player is gone, will people remember him?

My first jersey was a black Konerko. Then I got a road Jenks. I've been wanting a white Danks for years, but was always afraid he'd get traded. Also, he hadn't been around long enough for me to feel comfortable that people would remember him. He's been spectacular this year, so I'll probably pull the trigger sometime soon.

Unfortunatly for the Nats, it seems like there is no franchise player like Konerko on the team. Zimmermann may be the closest and you already have that jersey. Strasburg may be a good choice, though I would make sure he doesn't flame out. Also with that, I know I like to have jerseys that everyone else doesn't have. That's why I never even considered a Beckham or Quentin. (Konerko being a small expection because it was my first and because I really like Konerko). Maybe you're the same way.

I think the short of it is, there is no really same Nats jersey right now. Either take a chance or hold off.

A friend of mine from Chicago bought me a #30 Tim Raines White Sox jersey.  White with the stripes.   Beautiful.   But it remains the only jersey I own with a player's name on it.

I'm trying to decide between a Zach Day jersey and a Terrmel Sledge. I was considering Tomo Ohka, but I lost all respect for him when he flipped the ball to Frank Robinson after he pulled him from the game.

The only reason I could think of to buy a Zach Day jersey would be to try and get a date with the Turtle's daughter.

something to keep in mind, Modell's had Nats jerseys for 50% off last September, with a pretty good selection.

And I kick myself everyday for not getting a Zimm #11.

You don't even have to go throwback if you wanted.  Just get Howard's name and number on a current home white.  It makes perfect sense.

Actually, I'll solve this right now.  Nobody buy anything right now.  I'm going to the Hall of Fame next weekend and I'll see if I can swipe some vintage Senators stuff and I'll hand it out to everyone who shows up to this:

I said during a game thread that if Desmond came through I would buy a Desmond shirt, and I have said that if Strasburg at any time throws seven shutout innings I will get his shirt. As for Jersey if Stras can win ten games I will get an official Red jersey of his.

BTW - On Strasmas, I saw someone wearing an Expos "8" for Carter.

That guy was seated two seats to my left, unless there were more than one at the park.  This guy was pretty big, 6-4 or better.

You could also do the old:

"Today"  #1
"Tomorrow" #2
"Who"  #3
"What" #4
"I Don't Know"  #5
"I Don't Give A Damn"  #6
"Why" #7
"Because"  #8

I'm guessing I am one of the few on this board who view this team as the Montreal Expos and have nothing to do with any of the other teams who played in DC.

One of the few, but by no means the only one.  I think it's great that we have some former expos fans who continue to follow the team.  That history and heritage cannot be denied.  Having lost my Nats team twice, I feel your pain.  Still, as a DC native, it's our own baseball history that I have most interest in.  I can assure you that folks in Minnesota don't talk about the glories of Walter Johnson, Joe Judge, or Heinie Manush, and why should they?   Unless we embrace our baseball history, nobody else will.  Same for fans of the Expos, it's up to you guys to keep your history alive.
