Dunn got very lucky making a brain dead steal attempt. Lucky because the pitcher then balked.

How was it brain dead? Do you really think Duke was expecting it?

I dont think Dunn was lucky there, he did that intentionally. Seems like he knew what the situation was, his jump would have been so good that if Duke threw home i dont think they would have gotten him. If the 1B isn't covering first, its safe to run as soon as the pitcher flinches.

If the pitcher had stepped off and thrown to 2nd, dunn would have been out, no?

Would that have been possible without balking? Obviously if the pitcher steps off you get back to first, but as soon as he lifts that front leg I dont see how he could spin around and throw to second.

Okay. Maybe I missed that. I did not think the pitcher was going home yet. My bad. But I am still not sure he was.

I'm not entirely sure either. If Dunn did start running before first movement of the pitcher then I would agree with you he was lucky to an extent. Either way it lead to a run so I'm happy.

When things turn bad on this team, they turn so quickly.  Almost instantly.

I think he balked because he did not throw the ball to a base... but I don't really understand the magic behind balks.

Okay, c'mon Livan, get it down...

Innings like this is why this team struggles to win almost every night, no matter the opponent.

Does 'ham have a good arm? He seems to be able to get the ball in pretty quickly... but it doesn't look like much.

Wait, we still have the lead?  I could have sworn we just gave up 6 runs.
