the 6/23 start against KC is a "businessman's special" with a 4:35 start, I guess we could assume it goes to 7:00 if Strasburg pitches.

I certainly hope not.

I have tix for that game and chose it so that my kids would not be tired at a night game.

June 13 at Cleveland: This one is a lock barring Strasburg stepping off a curb and twisting his ankle. Indians spokesman Bob DiBiasio told the Associated Press the club is projecting ticket sales of 28,000 for the game, second this season only to the opening-day crowd of 42,061. The Indians have averaged 15,527 fans for each of 24 home games.

June 18 vs. White Sox: The Nationals are off June 14, so they will have to decided whether to give Strasburg the normal four days of rest and skip somebody in the rotation or push him back to June 19. The smart money is on the 18th because ...

June 23 vs. Royals: If Strasburg goes on the June 18, then the Nationals get another home outing out of him. If he goes on June 19, then he would appear in Baltimore on June 25, and who wants to give the regional rival Orioles that attendance boost?

June 29 at Braves: This could be Strasburg's welcome-to-the-majors moment as it will be the first time he faces a team above .500. The Nationals are off June 24, so if they want to keep him on normal rest, he would go June 28. We think they take the opportunity to give the 21-year-old an extra day of rest.

July 4 vs. Mets: Nothing says Independence Day like Strasburg pitching in D.C., right?

July 10 vs. Giants: The Nationals have another day off on July 5, so we say they give Strasburg an extra day since it won't impact his next start with the All-Star break starting July 12.

Based on this do you think he will start Monday July 19th @ Reds or does the rotation reset after the All-Star break? I really want to see him pitch in Cincinnati, but it might be smart to wait until after the All-Star break to see how the rotation shakes out before I buy a ticket.

other way around, they moved it to 4:10 when Fox picked it up.
Fox's 3 games on 6/19 are LAD@Red Sox, ChiSox@Nats, and Twins@Phillies.

BTW - 6/24 is an off day, so it would be 6/23 KC or 6/25 @Bal.
[edit]
As for 7/4, 6/19 would line him up for 6/25, then 6/30 and 7/5
[2d edit]
but 7/5 is an off day, so 7/6 (sd) and 7/11(sf), then opening the game after the All star break on regular rest.

Tribe tickets moving for Strasburg's next start

Cleveland getting a boost at the box office from Nats phenom

By Anthony Castrovince / MLB.com

CLEVELAND -- The phone rang in Mike Mulhall's office at Progressive Field at noon ET. Just minutes earlier, the Nationals had confirmed what had been speculated for about a week: Stephen Strasburg will make his second Major League start and his first road start in Cleveland on Sunday.

"As we speak," said Mulhall, the Indians' senior director of ticket sales, "we just sold 115 more tickets."

That pretty much tells the tale of how the morning went for Mulhall and his staff and how things are expected to continue in the days leading up to the phenom's highly anticipated encore to his magical debut Tuesday night in Washington.

Strasburg struck out 14 batters without a walk in seven innings in the Nationals' 5-2 win over the Pirates, living up to the inordinate hype that surrounded him when he was taken by the Nats with the No. 1 overall Draft pick and signed to a $15.1 million bonus one year ago.

And as the highlight reels of Strasburg's dominant debut played across the country overnight, the Indians found more and more takers for the available tickets to Sunday's 1:05 p.m. game. As of noon, almost 19,000 total tickets had been sold, meaning plenty of good seats were available on Indians.com.

But they were starting to go fast.

In the past week, the club sold 4,000 tickets to the game, which will pit Strasburg opposite Indians left-hander David Huff. More than 1,400 of those tickets were sold since the morning of Strasburg's debut, and more than 1,000 had been sold since midnight Wednesday.

"We had 425 sold between midnight and 8 a.m.," Mulhall said. "That was interesting.'"

Mulhall and the Indians needed this. With 372,658 total tickets distributed through 24 home dates, Cleveland has been drawing the lowest average attendance (15,527) of any team in the Majors.

"We're obviously excited about these next few days," Mulhall said.

In his 11 years in his current post, Mulhall has seen spikes in sales tied to pitching assignments, such as a CC Sabathia vs. Roy Halladay matchup or pretty much any time Cliff Lee took the mound in his 22-win season in 2008.

But Mulhall has never seen anything quite like the impact Strasburg has had already, and that impact only figures to grow in the coming days.

"We're in unchartered territory," Mulhall said.

kudos to gmu nat for posting the sked, but keep in mind martin (and most likely atilano at some point) will be replaced by others.

I thought so too and then I read that Olsen is being shut down. I think the next thing we hear is that he will visit Birmingham.

I am not that excited about Detwilers return for some unknown reason and I am thinking that Wang won't be seen until early August if then.

We better not see Zimmermann until September when he can fill in for Strasburg when he is shut down.

I would like to head down to DC for a game in September and see him pitch. I certainly hope they announce his schedule soon after the break and stick to it. I would be some upset if I count it out and miss out on one of his games. I mean I am a big Nationals fan, so seeing them play at home would be great, but I'd want to see him too. I'm glad this franchise finally has a replacement for Pedro Martinez.

Wouldn't buy that plane ticket just yet. He's on an innings limit, and September is when rosters expand. August is a better bet. Sorry.

P.S. Howdy

My apologies. Looks like he'll be pitching all year, but you can't bank on which start he'll make. 100 innings is 100 innings.

So... he'll throw every fifth day, and scalpers will buy up tickets for his next few starts at least, but he good get skipped any time they feel like it, which would screw anyone who has purchased a ticket hoping to see Strasburg.

Sweet.

The goal with Strasburg, Riggleman said, is to keep him pitching all the way through September. He will get around 100 innings in the major leagues left, and to keep him going all the way through the month, the Nationals may skip him for a start here and there in July or August, Riggleman said.

"We want him to pitch in September, so some of that shutdown may be before September," Riggleman said.

Riggleman said that Strasburg will pitch on June 18 against the Sox and on June 23 against the Royals.

So.. this is so he gets an extra home start right?

I don't see how having him throw sooner is beneficial to his arm.

He's not throwing sooner. He's throwing on normal rest for every start.

OK:

I don't see how having him throw sooner than he would if they stuck to a five man rotation is beneficial to his arm.

Have teams done this with young pitchers to keep them on a strict schedule before?

They are running it as a 5 man rotation.

Think about it... if the team plays 6 days in a row it'll look like this.

1. Stras
2. Lannan
3. Livo
4. Martin
5. Atilano
6. Stras

If they have an off day somewhere inbetween, Atilano will be skipped. Teams skip the 5th man in the rotation all the time.
