Fair and very positive takes. The first one in particular highlights the many components that bode well for the franchise. It's really a matter of whether the ownership actually feels that way.

Where are all the morons on this board who hate Rosenthal and think he is anti-Nats?

Over the past year, I have come to believe that much of the anti-Nats reporting in the past and the markedly improved tone since is rooted heavily in the baseball establishment's universal hatred of Jim Bowden and it's proportional universal respect for "consumate baseball man" Mike Rizzo. Throw in the signing of the bone fide superstar pitcher these baseball "journalists" know they need to follow for years to come, and suddenly the beat downs turn to the beginnings of ass kissing.

Great articles.   Thanks for the links.

It's nice to be getting some "respect" out there.

Now, if we can only get more people in the seats . . .

I wonder if Keith Law will ever assume the position and give the Nats a good ole' rim job?

shoeshineboy ... Valid points.

gmunat ... What i don't get is a lot of people on here dislike rosenthal - for no reason.  He is an elite reporter, he does his job.  Most of the nats news the last couple years has been negative ... that's our fault because we sucked and we had a bunch of on/off field issues.  He broke the news about manny being canned a bit premature, yes, but was he right?  Yeah.  And a lot of people got on him for writing that story on the lerners ... it was a masterpiece.  He detailed how they were frugal with spending for shipping/office supplies/rent/etc and how some questioned whether they would commit to win.  The lerners still have a long way to go, but they have been getting better - i won't dispute that one bit.  Rosenthal is one of the best in the biz.

I say you're both talking out of your asses unless you start putting up some quotes that aren't from ASSCLOWN.

Quote
What Strasburg could mean to the rotation, Storen could mean to the bullpen. And the Nats also could benefit from the returns of four injured pitchers -- right-handers Ross Detwiler, Jason Marquis, Chien-Ming Wang and Jordan Zimmermann.

whatever

My point is I bet he can't even provide evidence of 3 people who aren't ASSCLOWN that "hate" Rosenthal.

Yeah but it's a running joke based on a sportsfan quote about irresponsible journalism.

I didn't know that. I missed that one. Was it because Olney, Law and others were not bending over for the Nats?

He either said that about an upmire, a journalist, or Manny Acta.  It was in reference to someone being unprofessional.  It might have been about Rosenthal being wrong about Acta's imminent firing and not owning up.

I'm actually not that fond of him right now.  He seems to play fast and loose with information.  He was kind of babyish about the whole situation with the Nats last year.  That's understandable as an isolated incident, but he just recently did the same exact thing with the Orioles and the Angelos/Ripken fiasco-that-wasn't.
