Braun, Zim and Tulo are the 3 best so far.  Not that much difference between Zim and Braun right now and Tulo's not that far behind.

Justin Upton's pretty dang good too, Romero's looked very good this year.

Zimmerman was hardly the surefire pick at the time. Tulowitzki and Braun were just as highly regarded. So was Maybin.

This team has quite a few pieces to trade. These aren't going to be scrap heap guys either.

It doesn't look like he's going to be the superstar everyone (myself included) hoped he would be.  He's battled injuries which have hampered him a bit too.  But he can still have a really nice career. It's too early to write him off.  I think it might be good for him to get out of KC.

Well yeah but he's a DH type, and imagine where this team would be without Zim.

Are you talking about Alex Gordon?

Great game, just got home.

-LOL, Lannan is not going anywhere.
-Olsen sure was impressive from what I could see. Great job by the pitchers (all three of them) to take this team on their backs.
-I was very surprised they didn't let Clippard close the game out after Capps threw two yesterday. But hey, we're paying Capps good money to close games and he did today.
-Anyway, great game.

8:05 stars in this Cubs series and then a 2:20 start. Brutal. No way can I stay up until the end of those first two games. The 2:20 maybe I'll catch the last couple innings.

How did he become a "DH type"? His progress seems to have ground to a halt due to injuries.

I'm not sure.  He's not a great defensive 3B, not bad, but not great either.  He probably could move to 1B or the outfield if he needed to.  I know he was speculated to do that before the Royals let Teahen get away, but since he's gone, they might let him work it out at third.

I kept hearing that Alex Gordon would be a solid defensive 3B.  Not Zimmerman/Kouzmanoff level, but somewhere around Wright.

Anyway, great game today.  Olsen :worship: You made me eat crow today.  Nice job.

I never thought we'd win a game against the Dodgers wherein Scott Olsen was starting and the Nats only put up 1 run, but there it is.  That's the beauty of baseball.

I think they'll let him work it out because of Butler, or did they give up on him? I really don't follow the AL, but I like to :blah:

Butler?  He's at 1B for the Royals.  Having a pretty good year so far, I think.

Really fun time at the park today, 107 seats were fine, weather was beautiful, great defense by j-max and josh, and a masterful performance by Olsen and the pen. Would have loved to have heard Dibble wet himself over first pitch strikes and aggressive pitching across the board.

Scott Olsen wears the Elvis Hair as Player of the Game today.

We got a pic of that somewhere?

Zim is easily the best player on that list though.

Ummm, no credit to Upton?  He was dynamite last year and he's like 22.  Slow start this year, but let's see how it goes.

Capps did give up a 1 out double, then there were two fantastic plays by Guzman and Maxwell to seal the deal.  It was a bit nerve-wracking, but a 5 on the Broxton-Klej scale (1 is a Broxton, 10 is a Klej)

We do owe Bowden credit for two things - getting Olsen and Wilingham for nothing, and signing Dunn to protect Zimmerman.  But Rizzo deserves the credit for turning piece-parts into a team.
