There is no way Stephen Strasburg is a better option than Craig Stammen.

To be fair, Stras has some things to work on.

He was wild to lefties... and clearly struggled while in the stretch.

The minors will be good for him in the long run.

This reminds me of the Sharon Martis game last year... except he lasted longer.

Look on the bright side, we'll get to see T-Clip for a few innings.

Is this the worst start ever by a national pitcher, if not which one was worse?

You have to think about starting Clippard and bringing up Martin.

If you look on the dark side, however, we're also in for a few innings of Batista.

No way. Clippard just isn't cut out to be a starter. Teams teed off on him whenever he got the second/third time through a lineup.

Some good news for my fellow Caps fans:

The Senators are up 3-1 on the Penguins right now in the Igloo - game 1.

Strikeouts are overrated.

I'd rather have a hitter strike out than ground into a DP every damn time.

I watched it as well. And I saw him in Spring Training. And I can tell you even with his weaknesses he is ten times better than the crap we are watching now.

I agree with you.  Needs to pitch a bit better from the stretch.

However, it is true that he's still better than Stammen right now AND he can learn all of this stuff at the MLB level anyway.

I just want him down there if it's better for his health.

I just think there's a few things he can work on. It's not like the Nats were going to compete this year anyways.

Why not keep him down a month or two to get an extra year of control on the back end.
