One of my metrics for this team next year is that every player on the 25-man roster should be good enough to play on an MLB team.

There should be no Travis Hughes-quality players on the 25-man roster!

The glow is to try to distract fans from the less than "glowing" performance going on the field right now.

I disagree. I think Hughes hit him intentionally because he took issue with Uggla's bomb.
