Dontrelle Willis got picked up by Arizona, and won his debut

Where were you on this one, Rizzo? WAKE UP!

 :icon_mrgreen:

Dontrelle Willis went 6 scoreless innings in his debut with the D-backs.  5 hits and 4 walks, though.

;)

.

If Jeff Suppan is the answer, you're asking the wrong question.

But it does clear the way for them to call up Brian Bruney.  :D

Akinori Iwamura got DFA'd today and the Pirates will have to pay him the rest of his $4.85 million salary if nobody grabs him.

Is he better than our other options at 2B?  Batting .182 this year.

He's better than Pete Orr or Dopey Bynum so sign him for Syracuse and see what he has left.

Why would they do that? His numbers look decent.

The team is run by this guy:

Aki over Willie Harris?

and what the hell happened to Jake Fox?  Man he was a pretty highly touted prospect back in the day.  He'd have to be a better option than Nieves, right?

Get Renyel. He's better than Walker/Batista.

White Sox just DFA'd Jayson Nix. He plays many positions, but is strongest at 2B. He's got pop, but K's a bunch.

We should pick him up to get their playbook for this weekend's series and then DFA him on Monday.  :)

I'm reminded of Rex Ryan making Kevin O'Connell an honorary captain.

Nelson Figueroa.  Just to piss him off.

Then sell his contract to the Newark Bears so he can play with Dukes :stir:

So for a temporary RF solution for the rest of the season... Yes, they should unquestionably go with Morse, and should have done so months ago. But they haven't, and at this point, they clearly aren't. Two HRs, still a close game, and you take him out of the game?

Anyway, we clearly still don't have an everyday RF. Gary Matthews Jr. is going to opt out of his contract today. He was batting over .330 in AAA. Do you take a chance on him at RF, or were his Mendoza level stats in the majors a couple months ago keep you far, far away?

Stay far far away from Gary Mathews Jr.
