Gilbert Arenas finally spoke - for 95 seconds. Asked if he had any comments about fine: "Nope." About the game: "Both teams played hard."

Yea, I liked him alot like 4 years ago and now hes acting like such a crap head for not playing the past couple years. He can go freak himself if he keeps this up.

agreed on all accounts. i liked the fun-loving, great sense of humor, gilbert. he dominated on the court and had a lot of fun off it.

it's like he's trying to prove some stupid point or something. he also said he is not going to shoot as many threes anymore. :?

full transcript of the press conference after tonight's game:

Quote
Q: Do you have any comment on the fine you received today?

Arenas: "Nope."

Q: Do you think the game tonight was a sign of progress?

Arenas: "Yeah, both teams played hard."

Q: How are you feeling out there on the court?

Arenas: "I feel fine," Arenas said.

Q: What are your thoughts on Will Bynum?

Arenas: "He's coming along well."

Q: Anything else about tonight's game?

Arenas: "No."

Q: Do you feel good about the way things are going right now, feel good about the way you are playing, feel comfortable about the new coaching staff?

Arenas: "Yep."

Q: What can you say about Flip and how is he different than what you've experienced here before?

Arenas: "He's just bringing something different than the last coach."

Q: What in particular is he bringing that's different?

Arenas: (Six second pause) "What was the question again?"

Q: What are your impressions of Flip? What has he brought to this team so far?

Arenas: "It's too early to tell. Maybe next month, I'll have a better answer for you"

Q: Do you have anything to say about the fine today?

Arenas: "Nope."

Q: No comment?

Arenas: "Nope"

The end.

ive never seen a fringe superstar act like such a prima donna before. unbelievable. gilbert's head is enormous. he's not even the best player on the team! (i mean, he's played what, 20 games the last 2 years?)

Haha. That's awesome.

I don't care if he talks to the media. I just want him to stay healthy and keep playing like he did tonight.

He is acting like a girl but I would say its a close race between him and Caron. He doesn't need to play games to show that and thats why he acts like a douche. He is freakin good though.

I agree.  Now if it gets to a point where it's a distraction to the team, then something should be done.  But for now, it's just Gil being Gil.

That's what I love about Caron and Antawn.  They balance each other out.

I'm so pumped, NBA season needs to get here NOW.

Most definitely.  Who cares what he says to the media, despite how many games he has played in the last 2 years, he is the most talented player on the team.  In fact, I hope he thinks the media (or someone) is against him, because Gil is amazing when he has that chip on his shoulder, just think back to a few years ago when he was pissed about getting left off the US team and lit up all the teams with coaches that were apart of Team USA.  Gil has always been a whacko, as long as it isn't affecting the team chemistry or how the team plays, then I don't care.

As for him taking threes, I think he still will, but I believe it is only a good thing that he limits the shots he takes behind the arc and has better shot selection rather than just throwing anything up.  He can drain more shots just inside the arc and still spread the D just the same, only he has a much greater chance of making those shots.

Blatche just needs to work on his mid-range game.

Mike Miller is really impressing me

He's been great. I've never seen him move around on offense like this. Good passer, too.

these last two wins were very encouraging. even though it's preseason and lebron didn't play, these are character building wins.

They better still be in the hunt when I go to my games in March.

Is Yao going to play this year? I have tickets vs Rockets.

NBA players will be able to take two steps before they have to stop, pass or shoot this season.

The NBA has put into writing a rule allowing players on the move to gather the ball, after driving or catching it, and then take two steps. Throughout NBA history, the rulebook said players could take one step.

The new rule reads, in part: "A player who receives the ball while he is progressing or upon completion of a dribble, may take two steps in coming to a stop, passing or shooting the ball."

they were already allowed 2 steps as it was even though the rule was 1. i guess now they will allow 3-4, lebron-style.
