at the beginning of the season people were saying that Willingham was a worse OFer than Dunn and that wasn't that far-fetched.

now look at how solid he is out there. makes a diving/spectacular catch almost every night. looks a lot more comfortable.

Definitely.  He looked lost out there in the beginning, but he's solid and looks comfortable, same with Dunn at 1B.  That move worked out well.  I just wish we could've gotten more for Nick.

Villone is the worst pitcher in baseball - Willingham bailed him out. Why would one ever put Villone in the game.

I think Aaron Thompson will be decent. Excited to see what he does in '10 in AA/AAA and maybe reaching Majors.

now I will  Bard for that AB.

0-2 count and he delivered with a nice deep fly ball

I can't criticize Bard.  Considering the history of this team with injuries.  I don't have to run down the list of players who've been on the DL more than they've been on the active roster.  >:(

Josh Bard has...limitations but he's still playing.  I mean, he is what he is.  :|

...and that reaching and stretching, alone, would have put some current and former Nats on the 15-day DL.

...and he drives in another run.

no.

Bard has an awful swing but when a pitcher throws it down the middle and into his swing of course he has a chance to hit it out.

:hurr:

Bard has had a great great night.

D'oh.  I was mixing it up with the Beimel trade.  So many guys have gone through DC this year it's hard to keep track of it all :?

He has pictures of Riggleman, in a garter belt and high heels, and a sheep!

The NJ and Belliard trades were excellent.

We got pretty much what you would expect to get for a guy like Beimel. Won't know what we have in Mattheus for another year+.

Thompson posted a 3.31 ERA in six AA starts after being traded to the Nats from Florida. Doesn't turn 23 until next February.

Speaking of Beimel, is he even pitching?  I haven't seen anything about him in the Former Nats.

4.31 ERA in 12.1 IP in Colorado.

the fact that we got two live bodies for him was amazing.
