Oh, look at that two-time all-star shortstop right there!  So glad we have Guzman. 8)

I thought you were one of the bunt lovers? :|

No, it almost never makes sense to give up an out to advance runners.  Better to have the runners back a base and still have the out.  And many bunt fetishists neglect the obvious fact that many bunts are completely unsuccessful, as we just witnessed.  But of course, it's playing the game the "right way".

yeah he had a huge lead, howard, surprisingly the fat freak that he is, made a nice play.

i just find it so funny a lot of you hate on guzman.  sure he tries to imitate nieves from time to time as the most bonehead player on the team, but look @ our other options (gonzalez/orr/none of the kids are ready).  and who on the free agent market do u expect the team to go after?

face it, he's here to stay.

Get Guzman off of this freakin team.
How dare you question the abilities of a two-time all-star.

Hey guys, I think this roster would be really good next year:

C: Paul Lo Duca
1B: Robert Fick
2B: Felipe Lopez
SS: Cristian Guzman
3B: Ken Caminiti
LF: Juan Gonzalez
CF: Joe Dimaggio
RF: Jeffrey Hammonds

Who cares where they are now?  They all made the All Star game at one point!

Guzman pouting and clearly does not want to play. I'd sit his ass for the rest of the year and then release him.

Stupid to walk Howard to pitch to Ibanez.

Incredibly stupid.  Howard is a mere mortal against lefties, anyway.

I say they should sign a defensive specialist and split time between whoever they sign and Desmond.

Agreed, how is it better to pitch to a guy that has killed our pitchers all year?!

just because a player is better than some of the piece of crap bums on this roster does not mean he is good.

this applies to the bullpen as well. just because Saul Rivera is far superior to Logan Kensing doesn't mean he is even remotely good.

I'd rather pitch to Howard with 1 runner on base, than Ibanez with 2 runners on base.  What's next, walk Ibanez to pitch to Werth with the bases loaded?  All this intentional walking stuff is damn near as stupid as bunting is.

You might as well put in Suckovia at this point.
