hahahaha
I'm serious. He gives up so many big flyballs, they would be routine outs in RFK.
there is no way the current version of livan is better than the current j.d. martin.
8.0 IP, 3 R7.1 IP, 2 R^^ As far as I know, Martin has never done that.
i know you like these type of stats:Martin has given up 3 earned runs or fewer in 7 out of 10 starts. but seriously he has a 4.45 ERA. not bad for a #5 pitcher. he's not good by any means but I would much rather have him as a #5 starter over livan.

there isn't some huge disparity between the two of them.
Sure there is:Martin has uselessly short flashes of brilliance with an occasional quality start, and an occasional crapper.Livan has serviceable outings with an occasional great outing and a crapper every 3rd or 4th game.
That'd be a nice stat if half of those starts weren't 2, 4, or 5 IP
Both equate to the same end result: overall mediocrity.
If all you're looking at is their ERA, sure. If you can't see beyond that, then I've said all I have to say.
