Nationals All-Star representative
« on: July 04, 2009, 07:45:15 pm »
I think it comes down to these 3 players:

John Lannan
Adam Dunn
Ryan Zimmerman

I think Lannan deserves it the most because of his consistency and his sparkling ERA.

Lannan deserves it the most but Dunn will get it because of the HRs.

Now that Hanrahan is gone I'm going with Colome.

EDIT: Wait, now I hear Colome is gone. How about Wil Nieves. Who? WIL NIEVES.

You really think so?  I can't see it going down that way.  Then again I have no idea what the current vote tallies are.

no national will get enough votes to make it. The Manager (Charlie Manuel) will choose the Nationals representative. Most likely Dunn.

Apparently they have too many 3rd basemen as it is so RZ has a slim chance and the SP spots are limited so Lannan likely doesn't have a chance.

I'd like to see Lannan represent the Nats.

that would be awful. Guzman is the least deserving of them all. I'd rather see Dunn make it than him.

Having Lannan make it would be the best though. He deserves it.

John Lannan is the best player on the team.

it's a shame, i thought Zimm was going to be a surefire all-star this year. i thought the 30 game hitting streak solidified it, but he's slumped severely since.

Can we just throw out the first half of May so that my prediction of ZNN looks completely ingenious?

Damn.  So close, yet so far.

Lannan. He'll be rested and you know that Wright & Chipper are locks to make the team.

You also thought Dukes was going to be an All-Star and win the HR Derby. PWN3D.

It's completely believable just based off his dingers and his name recognition.

Well it isn't Lannon.

They just went through all the pitchers for the NL and he wasn't on the list.

Sucks that Dunn isn't on the Final Vote, he would have had a far better chance of winning than Guz. I don't think we stand a chance against Phillies and Dodgers fans (Kemp and Victorino), I voted a bunch of times for Guz but there's no way he wins.

Normally this wouldn't be the case but I noticed Dunn was included in the fan voting for the Home Run Derby despite the fact that he had no chance in the normal voting. Does this mean he can still go to the Derby without being in the ASG?

The Arizona announcers (Sutton and Grace) are clamoring for people to vote for Reynolds non-stop during their game broadcast. They are talking more about that than the game itself and they said that they will continue to do so all week.

everyone knows that it will be Victorino because he is a Phillie or maybe Kemp.

I still wouldn't be shocked to see Dunn on the team.  There will be some changes as there always are.  Guys like Ibanez and Adrian Gonzalez have been battling injuries of late and might opt to take the extra time off to heal up.  You could see someone like Dunn (or even Lannan) end up with a spot on the team by the time we get to the game itself.
