Ugh.  Much as I love Julian I would much prefer Beimel to pitch the 9th.  And the 8th.

Definitely. Beimel's just better.

We can't afford to trade outs for runs because the lead isn't big enough and there are too many outs left!

It's amazing how consistently bad some of our relief pitchers are.  You'd think they'd at least get lucky once in a while.  I seriously don't think our results could be any worse if we just let Kearns pitch.
They're like the pitching version of "automatic outs."  Our relief pitchers = automatic runs for the other team

great play RZ.

terrible job Joel. even the outs were hit hard. for a guy that throws 95 and has a good slider he sure gets hit really hard.

There's no chance we win this game with five runs.

Randy St. Claire shares the blame for the bullpen failures.  He likely has a say on all decisions.

Another Hanrahandout

Nacionales 5
D-backs 4

I don't know why this made me laugh.  Maybe because I imagined SF as a manager saying this in the dugout.

you're Acta. who pitches the 8th and 9th?

I feel like puking just thinking about it. I definitely think we'll see Tavarez in one or the other. I'm not sure who the other one will be.

I think we'll score a few more runs. Even Qualls is hittable.

I feel like with our bullpen, hits are the default and if we get lucky there will be an out. That's not how it should be. It must be hard to pitch so badly.

Kearns' less aggressive approach is definitely working for him this season.

Isn't it amazing that we can have that kind of optimism about our lineup this year?  Last year we'd be lucky to get a few runs in the whole game!

I know, he really should have used Mock for the 7th as well.
