Guys, don't be jerks.  It was a reasonable request and I don't see any harm in obliging it.  It wasn't even that great of a picture anyway, and it certainly didn't contribute anything meaningful to the discussion.

weather.com says 50-85% chance of rain/thunderstorms/drizzle until 8pm.  wow.

I wish that would make it's way down to Wilmington. We need some rain down here.

Are you really getting angry at pictures being posted? Its n2ps style of posting, if you dont like it, its a risk you deal with coming on here during work.
I'm not angry, I'm just asking for a little consideration.  I don't have a problem with pictures, but risque ones like that could cause trouble, especially when we have a thread for that sort of thing.

During the RAIN DELAY, we can discuss Chief's CHEESEBURGER.

Haven't seen that picture in a while.

Oh I take it back, I guess it was changed if it was that sort of picture. I still enjoy them, I just thought you were asking for the cheeseburger pic to be taken away

No problem.  Picture changed.

We need to know if The Chief hit the McD Dollar Menu and got the new Double (double cheeseburger with one slice of cheese instead of the former 2 slices), or if he went all-out and got the Quarter Pounder with Cheese Meal.... This COULD affect the outcome of this game.

Not pictures, but specifically pictures of half-naked women.  It's a reasonable request, especially since we have a designated thread for such things.

I appreciate it!  I like cheesburgers very much!  Especially bacon cheesburgers with cheddar.

is it gonna be like the world series last year where they re-start the game at this position?

assuming this game does get finished, how will this game rank up there in terms of favorite win/most disappointing loss?  lots of ups and downs today, the long rain delay, the 10 runs, the chance of a three-game win streak before a trip to LA or a heartbreaking loss after having plenty of chances, etc.

i think i'll be more pissed if this game is called.  zimmerman's streak would be down the toilet, we just wasted a starting pitcher and some of our bullpen (not like they can help) on a game that doesn't count, etc.

???  The game will not cease to exist, they will continue either today or a make up day where they will pick it up from this inning forward, no?

per NJ

Quote
The giant white tarp has been spread out across the infield diamond. The teams have retreated to their respective clubhouses. And since there's not a whole lot else to do here in the press box, here's an interesting tidbit:

Should this game be suspended, Ryan Zimmerman's hit streak would stand in limbo. Yep, even though Zimmerman tallied a single in the sixth and another in the eighth, neither will count officially until the game is completed.

So Zimmerman would enter tomorrow's game at Los Angeles riding a 22-game hitting streak, same as he was when he woke up this morning.

Say Zimmerman were to continue his streak tomorrow and the next game and the next game, all the way until it reached 43 games (one shy of Pete Rose's National League record). Then say Zimmerman's streak was halted at 43 games. There would still be a chance he could tie the record months from now or at whatever point this game were completed.

Wierd, huh? But, of course, this is all hypothetical for the time being.

Ok, how about this one...let's say both teams are out of contention (likely) will they just say, ah, screw it.  that would really mess with the hit streak.

The game became official after 5 complete innings, it just doesn't have a final result, yet.    They just have to pick-up where they left off... and we'll still have no one left to hit for our relief pitchers...

Yeah I get that, I just didn't understand the one poster who said Zim's hitting today was for nothing.

No.  If the game is suspended, he'll still be at 22.  If they resume and finsh this game, he'll get credit for this game.

It counts.  He just doesn't get official credit for it until they complete the games 4 months from now.

Just finish the game in Houston and let the team get to LA.  This already is going to be the biggest scheduling competitive disadvantange we'll have all season, likely.  The Dodgers have the best record in baseball, haven't loss a game at home and are currently in LA so they don't even have to travel tonight.

I don't feel good about tomorrow's game, in any event.  :(

It will be interesting to see what will happen if they don't finish today and someone (God forbid) gets hurt or they have a shake up in the bullpen or Strasburg gets here and makes his debut on a game that started while he was in college.
