Brett Myers, RHP (4-2, 2.90)
You couldn't ask for any more than what Myers has given to the Phillies thus far. He is in the top 10 in the National League in ERA and has been remarkably consistent in not allowing more than three runs in any of his starts this season. He allowed three in 6 2/3 innings against the Dodgers on Sunday, though he got no decision in a game the Phillies eventually won.

VS.

Tony Armas, RHP (6-3, 3.34)
Armas will face the Phillies for the third time this season. He is 1-1 with a 5.11 ERA against them. In his last start, Armas gave up one run -- unearned -- in six innings against the Brewers on Sunday. He struck out four batters and walked one. Armas has now won six out of his last seven decisions.

It's not raining at all in Gaithersburg and the radar looks pretty clear for DC.  Satellite has some clouds over DC.
I sat through a 2-hour Sat night rain delay against the Cubs last year.  (Scheduled for a 7:05 PM start.)  They kept announcing that the game would start in 30 minutes, every 30 minutes.  It was absolutely pouring for a long time, with thunder and lots of lightning.  They told everyone to get out of the upper deck because of the lightning.  I thought for sure they would postpone it.  There is an open date this month, but I bet they play tonight.  I signed my email Nats2playoffs and they read that on the air.  LOL.

The satelite doesn't always show the storms. The announcers just sasid that popup storm just came out of nowhere on RFK stadium. Its been raining reall heavy and hard in dc all day, on and off.

On a side note, did anybody see any of the world cup soccer games today. That Ecuador adn Poland matchup was good

In that 2-hour delay last year, the Nationals beat the Cubs.  Livan was our starter and that ump was calling everything strikes.  I figured that he wanted to get the game over, but it went past midnight anyway.  The most entertaining thing during the delay was when three guys ran onto the field, with cops chasing them.  The guys were diving onto the tarp and making HUGE, LONG SLIDES on it.  The crowd was cheering them wildly.  They got up and ran into the outfield, with the cops after them.  We were laughing our heads off.

What an awesome break for me.  I thought I'd missed the start of the game because I was spending time with my girlfriend (we're about to be separated for the next few months...boo...).  But now I find that it hasn't even begun yet!  According to Charlie and Dave they just rolled the tarp off of the field.  It's absolutely gorgeous over here in Chicago, shame it's kind of crappy in Washington.

Hey, who do we play on Tues/Wed/Thurs?  Those will be my first days at home, and you bet your ass I'm going to attend my first Nats game at RFK.

Tues/Weds/Thurs should be the Rockies I believe, with the Yanksters coming to town for the weekend.

So, is anyone else concerned about the Yankees coming to town, seeing super-Soriano firsthand, and then buying him from us for a ton of cash and some NY farm-junk?

Rockies here all 3 days and the Thurs game is 1:05 PM, Tues-Wed at 7:05.  Premium ticket prices for lawyers and law students only, unless they got a good lawyer joke.

They do not want to postpone games for rain.  I was amazed at how well the field drained last year.  Once they started removing the tarp to play, it took about 30 minutes, since they're pushing water into drains that are all over the field.  There were still puddles in the warning track of the outfield.  I did NOT see ANYONE slip and fall during that game!  That blew me away!  They're saying 15 minutes now, but it takes longer to shove the water off the tarp.  I'd bet 9 PM.

No, they caught them all.  But one kept dodging them, darting from side to side.  The crowd booed loudly when they took him off.  I assume they threw them out and they missed the whole game.  Those idiots at RFK had nothing on the Jumbotron to entertain anyone during the delay.  Boring.  The tarp sliders were the ONLY entertainment, and they only did it after 90 minutes had passed.  The announcer then kept saying, "DO NOT RUN ONTO THE FIELD.  YOU WILL BE ARRESTED."

We had seats in the lower deck, protected from rain near the concourse.  I was laughing my a** off as EVERYONE in the expensive box seats had to leave them in the rain and stand in the concourse.

Is anyone else watching this game on MLB TV?  I can't get any video to play.  Just keeps saying it's a "Commercial Break."  I assume this is because of the rain delay.

Okay, that just looked embarrassing, with all of our outfielders sliding around in the grass.

Ugh.  Bad luck for Armas followed by a genuine hit = 2-0 Phailers, with 29 pitches thrown.

The pressure is on our offense now, to score some runs and drive up Myers pitch count.
