That's what I meant by it doesn't have competition. Sony is so much better than 2k in the baseball franchise its not even fair. I don't understand why a different company hasn't stepped up for Xbox to control the baseball franchise.

Baseball games make very little profit outside of The Show.

The exclusive license for MLB 2K basically made it a loss for the company the day they signed it.

I do look forward to EA getting back into the baseball game. MVP was outstanding.

That bugged me more than anything about the demo, honestly.

The only playbook that "seemed" different* was Cleveland but that was just on the run plays, everything else seemed like it was either a generic playbook A (Chicago, Dallas, Patriots) or generic playbook B (Pissburgh, Eagles).

OOTP?

Out of the Park Baseball, son! It's basically a front office sim.

No beef on my team, just production. Old man Lerner passed away in my sim and his son is fiscally generous, I crap you not.

I really wish EA had kept making the college baseball game, it was so fun. I'm sure they lost money on that project, though.

PC. I play it on my MBP.

Wow, I should have posted the news story on here. I probably deleted it.

OOTP 12 is fine, but I think they focused more on iOOTP this year. I'm not sure there were as many added features as most years. I've only been playing since OOTP10, so I'm really just getting to the point of understanding most of the game.

I had OOTP10 and loved it. Maybe I'll pick up OOTP12 once the price goes down/on sale.

Is it like that MLB Front Office game?  If so, it's probably not the ideal game for someone with severe ADD like me.  :P

Yo UMD, what's up with the beer pong tables?

Hey, sorry, not gonna take 'em. I like them but we're not gonna need them after all. Thanks though.

Yes. I mostly play it when I'm watching TV / baseball.

OOTP is Mac compatible, and they have an older version you can play for free.  OOTP8 http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/ootp8/

I played the Madden demo and thought it sucked. I was actually shocked at how little they had improved the game since the last time I played it (3 years or so ago).

Guess SCEA has spoiled me.

Single Choice Early Action?

I like NCAA, but Madden's gameplay is definitely better. This year, there's an annoying glitch in NCAA where if you want a defender to run sideways (across the field), he shuffles and goes like 2 MPH. I've been playing Madden, gameplay is definitely better but I always enjoy Dynasty more than Franchise.

Eat your heart out, Nats fans.

When Ted Lerner passed, the news article said that his son, Ted Lerner, Jr. took over ownership. So I just changed his name to Mark.

What I find hilarious is that in this game the owners pictures have them in uniforms. It's something that a couple people have complained about at the OOTP forums. But in Mark Lerner's case, it adds to the realism.

so the show will never enter the box world will it?

so it's either mlb2k or maybe eventually EA (MVP or triple play hehe)?

in all honesty, i didn't mind the last MVP title.

The budget is for complete baseball operations including staff, scouting, draft.

But payroll is sitting at $110mil. The only huge FA signing I did was Greinke. JZimm was actually my toughest extension for some reason. I'm trying to home-grow talent and just hold on to it.

I'm gonna try and re-get OOTP 8.

I made a 1968-esque season, so pitching was insane. It was fun.

maaaaan, from now on, if it don't have Online Multi-Player, I'm not buying it.

unless of course, it is a world-shaking, game of the year quality single-player game, or a downloadable title.

but I'm not really a completionist, once I play through a single-player story once, maybe twice, I am pretty much done with it. so single player games don't rwally have much replay value for me. nor do they have any kind of trade-in value either. bleh, gamestop gets over like crooks I swear.

I think from now on, I will rent single-player games from gamefly (with exceptions, of course), and buy Multi-player titles.

I finally got around to playing Halo Reach.

I hate the matchmaking setup with voting for what game to play.
