I've been in a halo mood all day (probably because of the halo fest) so I've read a lot of backstory on halopedia (again) as well as rewatched the Halo ODST and Halo: Reach trailers... I forgot how badass the Halo: ODST trailer is.

I mean its seriously badass. That really made me want a Halo Live Action film.

It's pretty fun so far.  I played as the Cleveland Browns against the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl on All-Pro and wound up winning 3-0.  Peyton Hillis and "The Inconvenient Truth" Frank Gore both rushed for over 100 yards and Alex Smith threw 3 INTs so I'd say it's pretty realistic.

All but those two teams making the Super Bowl

Oh, I know.  I purposely picked two dog teams to see which turd would float to the top.  I also played as the 49ers against the FORESKINZ on All-Madden and had 5 INT with Alex Smith but 400 yards rushing with "The Inconvenient Truth" Frank Gore.  If you're a 49ers fan you really gotta hope they go 0-16 to get Andrew Luck, Alex Smith is turdible.

I played the Madden demo and thought it sucked. I was actually shocked at how little they had improved the game since the last time I played it (3 years or so ago).

Guess SCEA has spoiled me.

I thought the demo was terrible, but I already had it pre-ordered since I had traded in a bunch of games. The game's actually not that bad. Plays pretty solidly out of the box, though I still really miss NFL 2k5.

Definitely an improvement from the last game I got (Madden 09).

Yep, 2k5 was awesome.  Madden has no competition now and no reason to even try to improve every year, why bother?  They're the only game in town ()

They took away the rewinds so now when I play as Da Bears Jay Cutler throws five INTs instead of the usual two.

SHOCKER the best 2 sports games on the market (FIFA and the Show) are the ones with competition! When NHL had to compete with 2k they actually innovated. Now they just tweak a few things and half-ass features and tell us it's the best game ever :?

At least NCAA is trying to listen to fans. I have really enjoyed the improvements they made, though the game is really bugy for some people.

The Show doesn't have any competition. Sony is just smart in that genre. 2k has already conceded (7 years ago) so they trot out the same crap year after year.

EA bought out the football rights and I'm not sure how long they have left on the contract. With that, 2k decided to buy out the baseball rights. I believe this upcoming year is either a) the last year or b) the first year EA can start making baseball games again. I believe it is former though.

Madden really needs competition again... it also needs a better development team because NCAA is 5x better than its big brother.

Just curious, why is NCAA better?  I played the demo of NCAA '12 and loved it but figured if I was going to blow $60 on a time suck make it Madden so Jay Cutler can throw interceptions.

I say that the Show has competition because it does, though it's on another stratosphere when it comes to quality. Competition isn't why the Show is so good, but it's still got someone to fight for sales with (I wonder what MLB2k sales on PS3 are). God I love that game. Perfection.

the Madden developers are OK. 2 years ago they all got huge egos because they got a lot of attention (Ian Cummings, Donny Moore, etc). Donny Moore ("self-proclaimed 'ratings czar'") is just a nerdy white kid who revels in the attention he gets because he determines players' ratings (which are usually terrible). Some guys (Josh Looman) don't really care and are just good at what they do. The Madden team just tries to act like they're superstars even though their game has been by far the worst on next-gen consoles (and they're all nerdy white dudes despite acting like they're on Entourage) :lmao:

I don't have NCAA either because I am in the same way but from what I hear NCAA has better gameplay (defense movements, running, ai recognition), features, online features, etc. I hear its just the game that people wanted Madden to be.

That's what I meant by it doesn't have competition. Sony is so much better than 2k in the baseball franchise its not even fair. I don't understand why a different company hasn't stepped up for Xbox to control the baseball franchise.

It plays better than Madden, and looks better, too (for the most part). I love NCAA, I'll be playing it all the way up to next July most likely. It has its flaws, but it's a really enjoyable game.

In Madden '12 they have their own team with everyone at a 99 rating.  Pretty ridiculous.

I had NCAA '10 after I got out of the hospital in 2009 and played the crap out of it.  Once I downloaded the rosters it was a ton of fun listening to Lee Corso say "If he keeps playing like on Saturday he'll get to do it on Suuuuuuuuuuundays too" while LeGarrette Blount ran for 99 yards against the staunch North Texas defense.

It's not, NCAA blows harder than Madden. They are generally a year behind on fixes and features and the gameplay is exactly the same. I've heard the playbooks are better, though.

The playbooks in Madden are total azz.  I didn't start playing Madden until 2007 but it seems like the playbooks have never changed.

It's in another stratosphere, but they still ignored Franchise mode this past year, so I passed for the first time since getting a PS3. I'm hoping for a major upgrade to Franchise mode this next year.

Until then, OOTP, which is just fantastic.

That bugged me more than anything about the demo, honestly.
