Tom, does your tank have a bowed front?

Cool, let me know if I can offer any advice on a planted tank.  One thing about concret floors, they can be uneven, sometimes significantly so.  This can place inordinate stress on the seams of a tank, so it's best to shim or otherwise adjust for imperfections.
I'll keep that in mind.

No, look carefully at the picture.  It's what is referred to as a "flatback hex", or hexagonal.  Basically, it's a rectangle, but with the corners in front cut off, making it 6 sided instead of 4.

I considered a bowfront, but none of the ones available in the chain stores were anywhere close in quality to this tank, which is an all glass D.A.S., or "Dutch Aquatic Systems", manufactured in Texas and sold retail at a couple of places in the Dallas area, where I bought it.

Well I don't think Spidey can top that. So your dog's in charge of new members.

I had a 75 gal. reef tank in a townhouse. When you add the weight of the tank, water, rock, plus the smaller tank below it that was used as a filter, then the 4 ft. tall protein skimmer and the 1/3 hp. chiller, etc., it was a tad heavy. I had to put a jack under the floor joist in the basement. Good thing I was the president of the co-op at the time.    ;)

For anyone interested in saltwater tanks, the Washington Area Marine Aquarist Society is a great club and resource.

Ya know, I've never been a big saltwater fan.  I know most people prefer salt to fresh water tanks though.

The cost factor, along with the time requirement for marine/reef tanks kept me away for years. One good tax refund and a compliant wife changed that, and I'm so glad I did.
