ross detwiler continues to really kick ass w/ the Senators.

4 ip, 3 h, 1 er, 0 bb, 6 k ... of course the Sens offense is terrible and isn't giving him any run support.  Marrero/Espinosa/Burgess could possibly help (when ready).

encouraging for Detwiler. the run he gave up though came with 2 outs.

he got 2 quick outs and then gave up a single, SB, and an RBI single. that crap has always killed him. :?

yeah but so far so good.  1 run through 4 innings.  hopefully today he can go 6+.  it sounds like a decent night in harrisburg (low 60s).  c'mon stearn let him go, if he's cruising.

marvin lawrence hit by pitch, sounded bad, but he jogs to first.  c'mon luke montz.

McGeary and walking batters is ridiculous. 5 more in just 4 IP so far tonight.

wow, 9 Ks to 0 BBs through 5 for Detwiler. I'd really like to see him go at least 6.

crap, they only let him go 5. :?

Great start though: 5 IP 3 H 1 R 1 ER 0 BB 9 K. He lowered his ERA to 2.96.

In his last 2 starts he has struck out 16 batters in 10 innings while only walking 1.

it must be b/c det's pitch count is so high (after all 9 k's will do that to ya, i don't have exact number on hand).

it's really good to see him in the zone right now.  he's dominating hitters and his ERA is now at 2.96 with 28 k's against 10 walks.

With our major league pitching rotation, even if Detwiler just becomes a decent #4 or #5 starter I will be happy. I like what I see from him as of late.

he's got #1-2 stuff. Just has to keep up the consistency and start to go longer in games.

It wasn't all bad he did have 5K's in 4 innings, hopefully he can have more control next time out...

This.  He has the talent to pitch well, especially in key games.  Obviously he has the ability to limit his walks.  Now he just needs to try to go deeper in the game than five innings.  Very encouraging stuff the last few starts, though.

If this keeps happening we'll see Ross in the majors by September. Book it.

looking at bergmann's and clippard's stats, it just makes me sad that they will not be called up anytime soon.

I took my kids out to the game today.  It was just like watching the big club.  Atwood pitched like Cabrera (two walks in the first inning, but he got out of the jam) - Marrero dropped a pop-up in the 5th and Salem cut loose for 6 runs.  After that my two-year old, sensing defeat, said "Go home now."  So we did.  But it was a fun trip to the ballpark, even though the home team got smacked.

yikes, at least it was a nice day though right?  rough day for our 3 studs espinosa/marrero/burgess going a combined 2-for-12 with 2 errors.  atwood has an era close to 10.  ouch.

Derek Norris is sizzling hot. He went 2/4 with a HR, 2 Runs, and a walk in Hagerstown's 6-3 victory today.

Norris' season numbers: (.292/.397/.583), 7 Doubles, 7 HRs, 25 RBIs, 17 BBs, 28 Ks, 2 SBs, 1 CS.

He's second in the Sally league in walks (17), third in homers (7), and tied for first in RBIs (25).
