You are confused again. Don't worry it happens to all of this. I am sure if the timing of this was different most people would have shrugged it off as AAA filler signings. But of course we all remember last year were at points the entire roster was AAA filler. I need to supress those memories better.

These are pretty useless signings. Minor league deals are no risk. But I can't say much for these signings as being anything other than slop. Given that they didn't get their boy, why bother even announcing these?

WTF? It was hardly even announced. It was an event that happened and was reported by a paper somewhere in CO. It's not like the Nats held a press conference and pulled out the red carpet.

According to Chico we also signed Jose Castillo (Infielder, 27) Gustavo Molina (catcher, 26), and Gustavo Chacin (Starting Pitcher, 27).

Chacin showed some promise a few years ago but then injury problems derailed his career. He's still only 27.

No kidding. He was on fire for a while, everybody sat up and took notice, and then was overworked and hurt and fell off the map. In 2005 he was Rookie of the Months in two months, scored a sub-3.50 ERA, and was a fixture of the Blue Jays' rotation (200 innings). The next year he was arrested with a BAC of .150 (Nats material!) and eventually due to poor performance (ERA hit 5) was sent down to single-A ball before being released.

Joey Gathright was a way better signing than this yet Bowden let him sign with the Cubs and chose this peice of crap patterson
