I'd rather keep Milledge.

I'd tell the Yankees, "take Kearns or step off."

we aren't their farm system.

Nady is a FA after this year, where we'd have Milledge already locked up.  IMO, I'd rather keep Lastings.

Gotta agree here. Milledge has potential, while Nady is 30+ years of age. I would rather see what Milledge can do.

The only plus that I can see about trading Dukes to the Yanks is that AZ might follow him over there with his man-worship.

I can't see Dukes in the locker room with Alex Rodriguez (who I bet wore other men's thongs long before Giambi's)

Dukes wouldn't last in NY. He needs someplace relatively quiet with no pressure like DC to thrive in.

Yeah, that might not work out then. I would like to have at least one outfield position available (maybe even two) after next season so we can get Crawford, Ankiel, Bay, or Holliday, though.

I've read this a few times on here. Do some of you really feel there is a chance they would send Dukes to AAA?

I have a better chance of hitting the Powerball jackpot tomorrow night.  I was dozing-off reading the board until I read that (thanks for the wake-up call Minty!).  I've gathered that some of you are tired of the Dukes praise thanks to one poster but let's not lose touch with reality.  Wait a minute, Minty, were you just baiting AZ?

Dukes has nothing to prove at AAA.  On our current roster, only NJ has an eye at the plate like his, so Dukes will probably have the best OBP on the team in '09 unless we keep NJ and he can stay healthy.  You don't send your top OBP guys to AAA, and we've seen the kind of trouble he creates for the opposing team once he gets on-base.  If Dukes keeps himself straight, this should be his breakout year (and no, I don't mean breaking out of prison).   ;)

I'd be okay with getting Nady for Milledge.

Please God don't give up on a kid with tremendous upside for Xavier Nady.  That is EXTREMELY shortsighted.

Why are people here so quick to give up on young talent. Milledge is 23. Good lord...

That's why it would've been nice to get Holliday from the start.  Oh well.

Some idiot blogger thinks Dunn isn't worth 20 million a year?  Yeah no crap sherlock.

I think Milledge is a better hitter than Zimmerman. In two years he could be a true number three hitter but right now I'd take him batting leadoff.

I'd be okay with getting Nady for Milledge. If we could get 2-3 years out of Nady, that would run right into the time when Burgess would be ready. If Burgess doesn't work out, I'm sure there will be another option available.

I'm not OK with that at all.

I haven't seen it?  Though I hate tequila.  Haven't had it since '05.  Except for it mixed in a pain in de ass from Seacrets in Ocean City.

If Dukes keeps himself straight,

It would make AZ very unhappy because he would have no shot at fullfilling his fantasies.

I'm not either.  The last 10 or so posts made me realize how dumb that sounded. I've forgiven myself for thinking that was a good idea.

Well, unlike you, we are an unforgiving lot and will not cease until we feel we have beaten the subject to death.

I'm a tequila fan, though I rarely drink it because the last time I did I had my ass up in the air and my face planted in floor.

Have you stocked up for the season?
