That's freaked up.

I told a chick last night that come spring I am in the house every night from 6:30 until Nats Xtra is done. She asked me what happens if I miss a game and I told her I don't know because it's never happened and it's not going to start happenning. I went out to dinner with my mom and sister one night and wore earphones the entire time. She told me that it's sad that I let my mania for the Nationals take me away from "people".
That's freaking hilarious. I've done things like that before.

During the '05 season when I was working a Part-Time job at Food Lion and couldn't watch the games live I taped them on my DVR and when I came home from work at 10-11 I would watch the game like it was live to me because I tried to hide myself from finding the score. I would get pissed off if when I came home from work and my dad or someone else told me the score or what happened in the game. Eventually, I learned to just dart right into the basement as soon as I got home to avoid everybody.

I normally keep my Cell Phone set on whatever game tracker I can find for a cell phone, while I am out. and roughly every 45 seconds i take my phone out of my pocket and look at the game tracker.

and everyone knows what I'm doing except normally one person who seems to think I'm continually checking the time.

and my head is normally on a swivel looking for any TV with baseball on it, in hopes that one of them is showing the Nationals.

I used to have the text message alerts from MLB.com, so on game nights MLB.com was blowing up my phone with text messages every time someone scored.

I might do that again this season.

Slightly unrelated, but I still haven't been accepted to OH yet. Maybe it's cuz I've got "nats" in my name.

I listened to a football game during a friends wedding once, actually there were several people listening to the game.  We were ahead in the second quarter before the wedding and behind when it was over, sometime in the third.  We ended up losing.  There were a lot of grumpy people at that reception.  Saturday afternoons in the fall should be off limits for nuptials.

haha we're all such losers.  trust me i do the same thing.  when i'm on the road or on vaca, i have to make sure to go to a bar with nats game on it.  i get the funniest looks whether i ocean city/florida/cali/pennsylvania and ask to put the nats game on.  hell even in this town i get funny looks!

in the football offseason, my off days are switched back to weekends and i make sure when i draft my season tickets, i always pick those days.  i revolve my life/my sked around nats baseball, as sad as that sounds.

I got mad once because I was at a wedding IN DALLAS during the Skins/Cowboys game. Then the Skins won, and I was sooo smug. Worth it.

I have a sneaky feeling that's the chick was trying to tell me.  :?  Oh well, freak it. I love my Nats and that isn't going to change.

Or maybe because you have Sox in your name.

I might do that again this season.

Can you do it to where it only alerts you when the Nats score? Then again your phone will be idle a lot.  :?

I don't revolve my life around Nats games as much as I might like to.  It's really difficult to do that here anyway.  If I lived in the DC area i might a little more.  I get a lot of puzzled looks when I tell people I'm a Nats fan though.

I'm lucky i grew up a local sports fan.  nats/zards/skins/caps.  And I'm the biggest maryland fan in the world even though I didn't go to UMD.  I've contemplated moving out to Los Angeles, but it'd be hard because of all my sports teams.  Oh and my family/friends too.

That's where I want to live once I get out of college but all of my sports teams are here as well as my entire family. Also it's very expensive to live out there. Would be awesome though.

Actually you'd be surprised.  After living in Bethesda, it's really not that bad out there.

And when I went to Dodger Stadium - of course I had a few hook ups so I didn't pay for everything - but a dog and a beer was more expensive @ nats park than @ dodger stadium.  Although they didn't have any curly w pretzels so it kinda sucked.

With the exception of the Nats, all my other teams are local, but I'm a college sports fan, Nebraska specifically, and all those venues are literally less than two miles from my house.  Actually, when I back out of my driveway I see the football stadium.  It's pretty cool.

luckily my girlfriend can stand me watching baseball just about every summer night. she's not that into it, but she tries to watch it as much as possible. i took her to her first game last season and she loved it, but then again she just about loves every sporting event we go to, because she has never been to a caps game/nats game/nfl game (her first live game will be a steelers playoff game, hopefully next season) and she loves being that close to the action and watching it live...baseball she's kinda meh on but hey, if she can put up with me watching them (and even want to learn more about them), that's good enough. too bad her favorite player - bonifacio - was traded

i dont push it like i do the caps and steelers. her being a fan of those teams is enough, especially considering she'll avoid going out on weekends to watch the caps

I admit I zoned out last season after about mid-June.  I just didn't care anymore.  I still checked the box score every night and followed any off-field news, but that's about it.  Hopefully the team will give me a little more to be excited about this season.

That's pretty much what I am doing in regards to the Wizards at this point. 4-19 record after tonight's loss.

I could never do that to the Nats though.

yeah i'm used to losing because of the nats, but i feel bad for the zards.  their fan base was on the rise, the team had been in the playoffs what the last four years?  grunfeld brought this on himself though.  giving gil that contract and not getting another veteran big man was not wise.
