Which 2 picks would we lose?
Our top picks are protected because they are in the top 15. We would only stand to lose our 2nd rounder.

That moron proved he doesn't know what the hell he is talking about.

ESPN just reported that the Yanks offerred A.J. Burnett. Not sure of the numbers yet.
I hope they snatch him up out of Atlanta's hands.

ESPN just said that the Nats landing Tex would eliminate a possible destination for Ramirez because they think the Nats would pursue him if they can't land Tex. I guess that wasn't too negative a story about us.

let's just say we were to get teix, would you make any other moves to affect our everyday line-up or would you keep it as is?  what would your line-up be?

SS Guzman
CF Milledge
3B Zimmerman
1B Teixeira
RF Dukes
LF Willingham
C Flores
2B Anderson

Swap Dukes and Zim in that lineup.

I like that lineup. My only issue being that I would prefer moving Milledge out of CF. I think Zimmerman would be OK with Tex and Dukes behind him but if he starts off slow I would move him lower in the order. But to your question, you never stop trying to improve your lineup.

Yep. Me too. It sounds like they want to acquire a CFer.

Dukes to CF, Milledge to LF, Willingham to RF.

This may be out of left field but I wouldn't be totally shocked to learn that we traded at least one OF before ST.

Dukes to CF, Milledge to LF, Willingham to RF.

I'm okay with that just as long as Milledge is still a Nat.

hrm....the official Article on Nats.com says 8/160.

but Ladson's original report on the Hot Stove blog said 8/180.

I'm confuzzled.

Ideally it would be Kearns and Peña but I don't see that happening. But what if we ended up unloading Milledge and someone else for a decent starter. I'm just making this up but who, other than hammondsnats, would be opposed to that?

if we offer 10/200m and Tex says No, I've got no complaints.

move on to the next 1B.

Adrian Gonzalez would make me just as happy.

Ugh. what an idiot. The article says $22.5 Million a season which would be 8-180. 8-160 would be $20 Million a season.

Sheinin was supposed to talk to Boras at 7 PM and then the Nationals thereafter. Let's hope he has some good information soon.

I don't think that'll be enough. Are the Lerners serious about getting him or is this just their token offer to save face with the fans?

I don't think that would do it either. That seems to be about the same that other teams will offer him. And as has been pointed out, if the money is the same, Tex would probably go to a team that is already a perennial contender.

that probably won't be enough, but who knows if that's really the offer.
