Justin Maxwell made his pro debut yesterday, by helping the sand gnats to win...with a 3 run shot.

He struck out three times though.

We all should keep an eye on him!!!

I've heard his name before.  He's supposed to be the Nats next big prospect isn't he?

True, he did strike out three times, but he also blasted a 3 run shot in the 3rd inning.

Does anyone know where he played in high school - he's from Olney?  I could swear when I played against Riverdale Baptist a few years back he played for them, but I could be wrong.

I'm going to Charleston (SC) in June, will just miss the Gnats visit to the River Dogs.  Also going to miss Bill Murray bobble-head night.   :o

Doesn't matter much.  What counts is, what is doing positive with the bat, not how he makes his outs.

Meh...on a side note, I did not even realize they changed the name of the team.  They should have just kept the Vermont Expos to keep the name in the organization, in my opinion.

It's good to see that after struggling in Savannah, he has been consistent for Vermont. He can hit for power and steal bases

Today, he almost hit for the cycle (only a single was missing).

I can't wait to see what can he do in a full season (if he stays healthy).
