Progress!

Back over 9 walks and hit batters per 9 IP.

Pulled after 26 pitches last night and just 12 strikes.  0 K's 2 BB's in 2/3rds of an inning.

Less high on him than Sykora of course but still an interesting prospect. You do have to wonder about him when Cleveland was willing to include him along with Rodriguez and Tena for just Thomas. Cleveland is great at developing pitching, and that was super-fast to give him up. Rhode Island kid, so maybe harder to evaluate before the draft. Still room to develop, but more a lottery ticket now.

Maybe the previous start was a walk up call for him.

0 ERs today and 9 Ks in 5 IP.  But also back to his old self with 5 BBs and a very inefficient 93 pitches in spite of only giving up a few hits.

Take it slow with him. All of this year at high a, all of next year at aa. If he doesn’t figure out how to walk less than 6 per 9 by then he’ll still only be 21 to start 2027

19 at A+ is good. Had a very nice month. Can afford to be patient with him. Doesn't have to be added to the 40 man roster until after 2027. If he finishes 2026 at AA he's still on track. More or less, 2 years to make as much progress on throwing strikes as he can. The K% is a good sign he's hard to make contact against. .193 AVG against with a .306 BABIP, so it's not luck. Considering we got Tena and Clemmey for Thomas, that's a fine deal. Low end, he's a late inning relief option.

19 would be young for Fredericksburg. I'm more encouraged today about him than the day the Nats acquired him.
