PA will love this.

Werth has a full no trade clause.
Good thing Werth will be begging to jump after the Nationals start thinking about trading him.

Evo made a decent point:  by the time you would want to bail on Werth - years 6 & 7 - he will be a 10/5 guy.  The no trade is only an issue before that, when he should have less risk.

Apparently Werth is going to play RF against righties and CF against lefties

Werth will play right field against right-handed starting pitchers and will likely protect Ryan Zimmerman in the lineup. Riggleman also indicated that Werth most likely will play center field when an opposing left-hander is on the mound.

So, it's going to essentially be a whoever wins CF/Morse platoon.  Interesting.  That could work, actually.

especially if we go after and get a pretty solid 1B like LaRoche (or Lee who I think will have a bounce back year).  Or as PA says, Prince Fielder!  (i'm in the minority with ya PA, I like Prince, but I doubt he is a Rizzo guy).

What's that say about Morgan?
nothing that hasn't already been said.  It's a good sign, I think...

What's been said?  He won't be back?  Or he was expected to platoon?  I don't remember reading anything about it, I must have missed it.

I meant on here, mostly where he has a generally poor approval rating, but there was some speculation after the brawl that the Nats might be beginning to sour on him and his schtick.  Rizzo has never said that, but a statement like this would seem to indicate movement in that direction.

I think this means we're definitely going to see Nyjer this year.  I was holding out some hope that we'd get someone better (read: less crazy).  My wet would have been Colby Rasmus.  Oh well.

IIRC, he wasn't overly ammenable to any sort of a platoon last year, not that it's up to him.  I'm crossing my fingers it's a battle between him and Bernie in spring with the Roger winning.

I knew there was a good side to Lee going to Philly.
