Have you been taking a nap this afternoon?
Heh, I've been away.  It seems like nobody saw a live report. *shrug*

Anyway, lock this crap!  Screw you, Teixeira!

Yeah freak it. Lock it up. I can't bare to see that nag's name mentioned on here anymore. Let's move on to other players that we can target.

What happened to all the people that refused to believe the reports that we weren't getting Teixeira because they were not official? Positive thinking didn't pay off in this case.  :?

Sources within the Nationals Organization tell the Central Maine Sports Blog that the Nationals are "99% certain they will land slugger Mark Teixeira. Teixeira has narrowed the field down to the Red Sox and Nationals, with Teixeira and his family favoring Washington, and Boras pushing for the Red Sox."

Take it for what it's worth

I was one of those people, I dont care. I just rather think about winning than being a crappy team like we are.

Well plus, those reports were mostly by Buster "ive got a boner for winning teams" Olney and just dont listen to him anyway.

i still fail to see why you are so upset about this.

didn't you tell us all along that he'd never sign here and that we were stupid for hoping that he might?

so why are you seemingly so upset at Tex over this?

Just because I didn't think he would sign here doesn't mean I don't hate him for not doing so. Like I said I hope he turns into A-Rod circa a few years ago and they boo the crap out of him after he flops.

This gets better all the time, turns out the Sox did increase their offer yesterday but Boras then shopped it around to the Yanks.

http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/

Quote
The Herald's Sean McAdam reported late this afternoon that the Red Sox slightly upped their offer yesterday, but after being stonewalled in their attempts to get a straight answer from Boras last night and this morning, they attempted to set a hard deadline for the deal to be accepted after becoming convinced that their offer was being shopped elsewhere, possibly to the Yankees.

Wrote the Daily News's Bill Madden: "It was then learned that Teixeira had favored the Yankees all along and according to sources he conveyed that to them this week."

For the love of God prove that A-Rod ever had a bad season. Ever. He may not have been as unbelievable as in other years, but he has never, ever had a bad season and won't for years to come.

You sound like you could work for ESPN. You need a goofy nickname like Scooter.

A-Rod is a great player but he was HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE in the clutch and playoffs for a few seasons there and the NY fans booed and booed.

Ok NY fans booing is now statistical evidence. At least you didn't cite Fans, Philadelphia, 2006.

He got cold in the playoffs but you have to look at things like sample size... He's still one of the all time greats.

I'm not saying A-Rod is a bad player. But my point more was that if Tex doesn't produce they will quickly turn on him like NY did with A-Rod. I shouldn't even have brought A-Rod into this discussion. I was just throwing a name out there.
