Aaron Judge

Watching the Yankees tonight. Aaron Judge is having a night. First time up he hit a grounder right at the shortstop who booted it. They gave Judge a hit. The Yankee announcer wanted to know what league they were playing in that was a hit. Anyway, second time up three run homer. Third time up monster homer to center field. Dude is having himself a May.

Whoever got the homer in center threw it back on the field. Are you stupid? Maybe the best hitter in the game and future HOF and you throw his homer back?

One other thing. The color announcer for the Yankees said one thing different about the Giants stadium is we're in the bottom of the 5th inning and the scoreboard is blank from the bottom of the 5th to the 9th instead of zeroes to the 9th inning. The other guy is like what are you talking about? Nobody has zeroes in the innings not played yet.  How can you be in baseball all those years and think that?

Some fan bases actually care about their team. Also, Judge used the Giants to get the Yankees to add a year or two to his contract. Giants fans are probably still salty. Again, some fans actually have passion for their team.

Growing up in Chicago, there were constant debates about this. Cubs fans throw home run balls hit by the other team back onto the field, White Sox fans don't (and they'll boo people who do). Each considers the other barbaric.

Personally, I think throwing balls back onto the field is dumb. The only ball I have ever caught at a baseball game came off a bat of a player I truly despised, Jeff Kent. I still kept it because how cool is it to catch a ball at a ballgame? If you catch a ball you don't want, give it to a kid: you'll make their week!

Judge missed me by just a few rows when he hit a HR at Nationals Park during the 2019 All Star game. I definitely would have kept that one too!

The Yankees announcers talked a lot about Judge almost going to the Giants. He grew up in that area. They said the Giants and Padres offered more but the thing that clinched it with the Yankees is Steinbrenner called Judge in the middle of the night and Judge was up. Steinbrenner said what are we going to do. Judge said give me a ninth year and I'll be a Yankee. Done deal.

Passion for your team is a good thing but a ball hit by a future HOFer. Nah, I'm keeping that baby.  :hysterical:

That definitely would be a keeper.

Absolutely with you on this. I get the Cubs fans doing it, but it is their thing. Dumb and a bit dangerous to copy.

Judge did get booed when he came to the plate.
