Good interview. Is Ladson back? And I really hope Zim finishes out his career here.
Splel check the atricle to verify.  Great to see him back!

Zimm's the Face of the franchise, period !

Unlike Harper, who won't be back after this season...

Zimmerman 2018: .267 / .343 / .506
Zimmerman Career: .280 / .344 / .477

he's been a 1.4 Offensive WAR player this year, putting him at 13th (minimum 250 PAs) out of 22, not terrible.

if he was healthy enough to play in say 140 games, his comparables are:
Anthony Rizzo:  .276   .371   .469
Cody Belinger: .260   .343   .472

it's actually once in the last five, though he played 116 in 2016.

FWIW, here's your list of 2019 1st base FAs (not counting guys like Murphy who could slide over):
Lucas Duda
Joe Mauer
Matt Adams
Chris Carter
Pedro Alvarez
Chris Parmalee

Neither of the two Chris's have played in the majors this year.  Mauer will be 36 next year.

Zimmerman's gonna be here next year, while Harper will not...

How will the Bryce fans handle that ?

Bladsdale struck a bit of a nerve with this question:'

Quote
MLB.com: As you were recovering from the oblique injury, I texted you and asked you about a calf injury that you allegedly suffered. You denied that you had such an injury. How did that story come out? I was not the only one that approached you about the calf injury.

Zimmerman: That's a good question. Who knows how it got out there. It's in the past. I don't have to worry about it. I'd rather not talk about it.

Close this thread. He’s done until 2019.

Final line: .264 / .337 / .486, 13 HRs, 323 PAs.
