Do you recall who the warmup act was?  Clue -he had just released Margaritaville

Wow - nope, I didn’t remember that at all. I was probably in line for the women’s room.  :(

Did you know he is starting up a 55+ Active Adult community in Daytona?  I saw ads for it while I was down there. Retirement communities will never be the same.

Fees are fees.

I probably would have paid it if I were still working, but now that I’m retired I find I’m a lot more twitchy about spending $$$ like that.  :oldy:

At the time Buffett and the Eagles were my favorite acts, I was at the concert too.  Most people had heard Margaritaville by then but I'd been on Buffett since A1A.

He opened that show with Changes in Latitude, played Pirate Looks at 40 and Tryin' to reason with hurricane season, and Margaritaville of course.  What a great show.

I found the Eagles set list from that show.  Fantastic.

Hotel California
Victim of Love
Already Gone
New Kid in Town (Joe Walsh on keyboards)
Tequila Sunrise
Wasted Time
Turn to Stone (Joe Walsh song)
Witchy Woman
Best of My Love
Peaceful Easy Feeling
Try and Love Again
Lyin' Eyes
One of These Nights
James Dean
Funk #49 (James Gang cover)
Life's Been Good  (Joe Walsh song)
Life in the Fast Lane
Desperado

Encore:
Take It to the Limit
Play Video
Rocky Mountain Way  (Joe Walsh song)
Take It Easy

BTW, they played 2 nights together - March 21 and 22;  The Buffett set list is not started, but there are placeholders.

What are you - on drugs ?  Bruce has played concerts for hours - has always been known for the longest concerts

varoadking is still mad that Springsteen didn't play the song "Born in the USA" at Nats Park in September 2016, never mind that he did play seven of the twelve songs from that album.

I'm mad that I had to sit thru "41 Shots."   :P

Heh. My wife hates that song, although she acknowledged how it was appropriate for that show at that time as a "statement song."

actually, there's some nice lines in there too.  To my ears, it wasn't all pile on the police on that one.  The "is it a gun, is it knife, ..." is from the perspective of the officer and how he has to make a quick decision that can have consequences. Now, does he end up making the wrong decision because of the skin of the victim?  That's the suggestion, but the passage conveys that it isn't easy in the police's shoes.

Also, Lena talking to her son offers up some advice that I think is right -

"Promise me if an officer stops you'll always be polite
Never ever run away and promise mama you'll keep your hands in sight"

I say I'm completely on board with that and you'd have a lot fewer incidents if everyone did this. That goes for all police / public interactions.  Try to make it easy for the police and let him/her do the job.  It is a fraught situation, and, maybe I'm all wet, but I think there's some empathy across the board on that song.  however, I'll acknowledge that he started writing it to protest what happened.

Oh hell no!  That's not entertainment...

We saw Willie Nelson in Honolulu back in the early/mid-80's.  I'd say he was the worst I'd ever seen, but I also saw Johnny Paycheck once...the only concert I've ever been to where virtually the entire audience left before the show was over...

I should have said Nugent.

Oh, and you still have a chance for the Eagles.  Joe Walsh is probably acceptable to you.  If he said anything political, no one would be able to understand it at this point.

When old bands perform for old ears they sound just fine.

My advice  whippers snappers is just stay away

I picked up four tickets in Sec. 113. Face value $229. More than 1K for all four with service charges. Ugghh.

The Eagles are the only big time band from the 1970s that I never saw. Various reasons. I need to cross them off the bucket list.

Yikes.  Seems like when one of the original, very important members is no longer with us the price should be adjusted for it.

BIL - Hope you really enjoy the show - a show that has potential to grab the audience by the Trump method.

We can work something out this summer to save both of us some money - if you want.
