I have lost hope that Ramos will ever be able to hold onto a ball or field a throw on the bounce.

This.

Went back and read this since I couldn't follow the GDT last night.  All the Storen hate when it was Ramos who was constantly getting crossed up.  Ramos has regressed defensively.

maybe not a GDT comment, but I was thinking about 2017.  young guys developed by the Nats up the middle in CF (Taylor), 2d (Difo), and SS (Turner, whose development will be in the Nats hands).   As for C, I wonder whether it'll be the vet Ramos or some other alternative not yet in the system or not in focus.

There are some highly rated C prospects right now, but I don't know long they are supposed to be.

The first of Storen's 2 Wild Pitches was inside and hit the dirt in front of the plate. No closer should be throwing a pitch like that, especially with a base runner on 1B. Nobody is going to swing at it. Both Wild Pitches resulted in the runner making it to 3B.

Drew just needs to trust his own stuff. Throw your fastball.

Drew Storen needs to send me a $2,000 for each Blown Save.

I watched the first three innings and they had one horrible "statcast" of Gio's curveball so I switched off to MASN.

I wholeheartedly disagree.  A catcher worth his or her salt gets in front of those types of pitches with frequency.

Even Charlie and Dave were talking about how Ramos had an "abysmal" inning and really let Storen down.

Shoeshineboy hit the nail on the head - he can't be trusted to catch a ball coming in from a fielder to make a tag or to even hang onto the ball on the occasions he actually does catch the ball.  Combine that with his dwindling ability to block pitches in the dirt and Ramos is becoming a liability behind he plate.  Plus he's a big bodied catcher - typically, they regress more quickly than the little guys.

I hope he can turn it around but I am beginning to doubt he can.

Okay, Wilson Ramos needs to send me $1,000 for each Wild Pitch where he is at fault or $2,000.

Let's make a fair deal here.  I'll take the Ramos money and you can take the Storen money.  :P

Yes, it was a painful bore.

I watched the first three innings and they had one horrible "statcast" of Gio's curveball so I switched off to MASN.

So you missed them disregarding the true distance the baserunners were away from the bag when taking a lead.  If you're 10' north of the bag AND 4' east of the bag you're not 10' from the bag if you have to run back on a pick off attempt. The lags were also really funny too.

I just can't see anyone that's not either currently employed or someone looking to get employed by an agency of MLB finding "StatCast" worth a damn.

Meh.  I didn't hate what little I saw of it.  I think it was a good start and they'll improve upon it. With MLB Network hitting its stride, I'd anticipate a lot more of it going forward.

Feels good to beat the Cards. Gotta win this series.

Storen continues to be a concern though. He just has not looked good. Rizzo has gotta acquire a reliever or two.
