He's not finishing this game.  There's the top of the 9th.

Quote
Games finished is a statistic for relief pitchers which counts the number of games in which a relief pitcher was the last pitcher for his team.

Can't wait to see what Fernandez does to us tomorrow night. I'll definitely make sure to stock up at the liquor store.

Matt Williams has a fiduciary duty to not put Soriano to finish out a blowout. What is he doing?

Then again, the way the contract was structured he doesn't really get $14 million. He only gets $7 million. The other half is deferred as annuities that kick in 5 years from now so the Lerners don't have to part with the money for a while.

True, still way too much money for him though to have him finishing games he doesn't need to be finishing. I don't know if it's Rizzo or Williams' decision, but they're worrying me.

The troubles have been early Matt because the team isn't prepared.

Matt Williams clearly perturbed in the post game presser for the first time this season.

Good, I hope he gave the players a piece of his mind.  What an EMBARRASSING performance.  Embarrassing.

I am not sure about that; several of the games we have lost have been directly because our starters have gotten bombed in the early innings including our Big Three.  If you fall behind 6-0 like last night early then not sure what preparation has to do with it.  Same with Gio Sunday.  If our team ERA stays this high it will be a struggle no matter how well prepared they are.

Take a bit of the edge off with a pre-2005 Phil Wood moment.
