Granted, it was kind of a no-brainer, but Downs is a 24 year old former top prospect with position versatility who put up massive minor league numbers in 2018 and 2019. I understand that he couldn't hit AAA pitching once he got to the Red Sox organization, but something something change of scenery.
I believe he is a piece of the puzzle and I am prepared to die on this hill. Go Jeter go!
