Yeah, you know, I don't get things like not knowing how to use a knife and fork, or refusing to put your napkin in your lap when eating at a restaurant, or the like. When I was 13, if you acted immature like that the other kids would make fun of you. My impression, both from these relatives and what I see in restaurants, is that many kids today (certainly not all kids, but many) try to remain as immature as possible for as long as possible.

It seems to me that if you're in your teens (heck, if you're six years old) your parents should not be cutting your food for you, unless perhaps you're having something new to you like lobster tail and you need to be shown how to get it out of the shell. I wonder what's going to happen when this generation of kids has to go to job interview lunches and the like. If I were making the hiring decision, I probably wouldn't hire someone I observed not knowing how to use a knife and fork because I'd think that person would be likely to embarrass the company in some way in the future.
