According to this Chelsea Janes article from last year, the Nats have sent guys home before. Scott Boras is his agent-- I wonder if that is a factor at all in the decision to let the media know about this (since it seems like the Nats do everything very discreetly in other circumstances). Maybe the mere mention of Boras makes me reach for my tinfoil hat, though.
