So here's our bench today:
Desmond (injured)
Morse (injured)
Stairs (worthless)
Bixler (eh...)
Ramos (backup catcher, in a 1-21 slump)

Yikes.

For those going today:

Capital Weather Gang has 'A midday decrease or break in shower activity may be enough to get this game in. But I'd bring an umbrella and plan for at least the possibility of a rain delay, as well as the potential for a t'storm later in the game or during the trip home.' Chance of precip 60%, a sentiment echoed by Yahoo! Weather.

(Oddly it doesn't look half bad outside my south Arlington flat right now.)

Also, as with yesterday, if you're using Metrorail, budget more time - single-tracking on sectors of all lines except the Green (the Yellow was pretty bad going home yesterday - ended up using a Blue line): http://www.wmata.com/about_metro/news/PressReleaseDetail.cfm?ReleaseID=4918

The game's on at supper time here in London. Time to bust open the new Hoegaarden four-pack.

Heading to my first game of the year - sucks that weather looks so bleak. Hopefully it won't rain!

I'm over here in Centreville and it looks like a beautiful day out.  So probably give it an hour and it'll be looking good at the ballpark.

Vazquez is having a bad year.  Unfortunately, I have a feeling he's going to have a career game today because the Nats have a tendency to make crappy pitchers look like Cy Young.

I'm not an expert but MASN is a 2nd rate outfit (IMHO).

But did you stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night?  You're absolutely right about MASN.

My problem with MASN is that they have no young talent for either team and the studios are old looking, especially in standard definition. Ben on air is a breath of fresh air to the broadcasts. Look at the O's crew, too. All older guys. The MASN nightly report. ALL older guys.

Young on-air talent would make the broadcasts, especially the pre-game shows and such, much more interesting. I love Johnny but I'd be happy with a solid younger host. Maybe it's just me. Maybe I just really don't like Phil Wood and the other dinosaurs he does his nightly show with.
