This "bygone era" is going to last well into when you're crotchety and old and start agreeing with it.

Dukes was a little out of hand the other night. You don't see many other players doing it.

I prefer to let people be themselves. I'm not threatened by the way people behave. Brash people don't bother me one bit. The "way" I see it, the only reason people insist on the "way" is because they are intimidated by a certain demeanor and this is perpetuated by media types and old people.

What exactly is that pose Boone is striking?

He's channeling a 1940's pinup.

Besides old people and the media also the Mets. And the rest of the Nationals. And the rest of MLB, pretty much.

I like enthusiasm. Blowing kisses to the opposing dugout, waving to the fans, and doing the crotch grab is gonna get you thrown at. If you can dish it out, you should be able to take it and not flip out when you get brushed back.

Feet first, too. Glad he's smart enough not to do that head first thing.

I've got no problem with that concept. If he gets hit and charges the mound the pitcher who hit him or brushed him back should be able to handle business. Otherwise don't retaliate. Pelfry was clearly ready to nag up after he threw the pitch. If you aren't willing to stand up and settle the matter then you should not be throwing at batters.

I'd be too embarrassed to admit that. I have a brother who is an orioles fan and I'm embarrassed to admit that.

My son looked at his fall ball uniform with shock and horror. The orange bird is on the cap.

Great recovery by Martis.  He's really pitched well to Uggla and Willingham.

I feel his horror. My nephew played for the birds in his summer league and he got ripped over it all the time from almost all his uncles, even his mom made fun of him.

People in this freaking area need to stop acting like the Orioles are the #1 team.  I'm not necessarily referring to what you're talking to, but it's just a general thing I've seen in the Maryland suburbs.  Even in PG County, I see so much Orioles crap everywhere.  The Nationals are closer and they don't have Havana Pete at the helm.  This needs to change.

2nd start. It is a tough lineup. I think he'll rack up some Ks but will give up a few long balls.
Correct so far.

I'd trade for him in a second. An .888 OPS out of a second baseman is awesome.

Success and time, my friend. Nothing else will do it.

About them being closer, from here in Gaithersburg, I can get to OPACY faster than I can get to NP on Metro. Of course, I only do it when the Nats are travelling there.

Olsen has frankly looked awful tonight. It's almost criminal that we only have 1 run off that bum so far.
