Kearns batting 7th?

Great quote from Chico's blog on Jesus:

Quote
Here's a dose of good news. Jesus Flores's sprained right knee, which had him listed as day-to-day, isn't going to keep him from the lineup. He said he feels fine today. Even yesterday when he had an MRI, the catcher said today, he still felt fairly good.

"They were treating me like I was hurt," Flores said. "I was like, Why? Why do I have to do all that stuff? MRIs, X-rays? I'm OK!"

And so he is.

What a beast.  :pimp:

Marco Estrada is a former 6th round pick (2005).  Like fellow National Danny Espinosa, Estrada also attended Long Beach State.  He came out of HS virtually unknown and posted enough numbers to merit a decent draft spot.  The beginning of his career was stunted by injuries, but he has seemed to recover and has pitched decent for the farm system this season.

This is what the Nationals thought about him when they drafted him:
Quote
"When Estrada gets to the big leagues, he will be an innings eater and a fifth starter-type guy. He has value because of his pitch ability. He really throws a lot of strikes.

and the scouting report:
Quote
A sixth-rounder in 2005 out of Long Beach State, Estrada throws three pitches for strikes. His best offering is an above-average curveball that gave hitters fits in Hawaii. He also has good feel for a changeup. His fastball velocity is underwhelming and he typically sat at 88-90 mph. He needs to cut down on his walks. Estrada's stuff and profile are similar to Kennedy's but he lacks the notable pedigree."

Don't know if we will see him tonight, but hopefully he is able to put forth some solid outings in the shambles of this season.

Get my ingrown toe nail pulled out by rusty pliers or watch the game?

Oh, decisions, decisions.

So, are we going to play the role of slump-busters again?

For the other team?

I think we'll play the opposite role of spoiler this September...

See, I don't get that. How do you take a high 80s fastball right down the middle for strike 3?

Btw, I'm pretty tired of Bonifacio as a lead-off hitter.

he's definitely slumping, that's for sure.

whether he can work out of it will denote whether he's the real deal, or whether we got screwed in the Rauch deal.

EB is worth it for his glove alone, but he should be batting at the bottom not the top

I really wanna see Bergie pitch today. I love his talent but he is the most inconsistent pitcher I've seen in a while ...

Thus raising the question whether we should have traded a premier BP pitcher (given we have no one right now) for a #8 hitter.

He called all of the Philly fans "Bandwagon fans" last week while they were on the Road.
