I still feel as if we have made bad decisions in two striaght drafts both with top 10 picks. First we miss on LaPorta in 2007 and know we pass on Smoak...Atleast we have a 2nd round-pick with first round-pick potential.

We got a 6th round pick w/ first round potential last season. Crow would be the first true potential ace that we've ever had. I've had no problems w/ these last two drafts.

While I can see a slight issue with his mechanics, I'm not really that concerned about it. It's not as bad as some people make it out to be. His follow through is considerably better than Chamberlain's. I doubt people would be so concerned about his mechanics if some of the articles written by a couple of people had not surfaced. I'm more concerned with signing his stupid ass.
You really think he would not sign and go back to Missouri for another year?

It's pathetic. Ayala should be lower on the totem pole than Colome. gulp.

I'd place 50% of the blame on this loss on Ayala and the other 50% on the non-existent offense. Bad luck played a key role too.
Colome actually could be a decent pitcher if he had control.

Way to waste a Lannan gem!

It was a wasted effort in the sense that we won't get the win but for Lannan it was a great start to continue to build his confidence. These starts are giving him valuable experience. He was a beast tonight and that's all I care about tonight. I'm giving it up for him

Exactly. He is going to sign we are, just putting it off to see if we can get him to lower his asking price as the deadline nears.

and why no sight of Shell in there? Hes our best reliever IMO right now and we couldn't even try him out, we had to give Ayala the ball...

Might be getting a day off.

As long as we sign the picks I'll have no problems but if we don't it's a failure. I want Espinosa signed. We need more middle infielders in the system. He's from LBSU which has pumped out a few ML infield studs (See: Longoria).

Lannan is going to be a really good pitcher for us, and already is a really good one.

since Zimmerman has returned, we are 0-10 when he starts. truly mind boggling.

He had a great outing today and this is what I envision he will be like at his peak, only on a more consistent basis.

He has an agent so he can't go back to school. Once you retain an agent your eligibility is gone. Unless you mean go back to complete his degree. His college career is finished (unless the rules have been altered in the last few years). His only option now is to go pitch in an independent league until next season's draft.

And 4-0 when he doesn't start. Unreal. We should have known that they'd blow the game since Lannan was pitching and Zimmerman was playing.  :?

Colome > Hanrahan. Hanrahan is vastly overrated here.

we may be 0-10 with Zimmy in the lineup, but im still not saying its all him, just a weird stat. I'm just curious why Langerhans was in the lineup. Why no Dukes? Still hurt from the other day with that "charley horse"? Langerhans is just letting balls fly by and becoming behind and gets lucky with a walk. Just keeps looking.

Its like a dead end when it comes to him in the lineup.

this was the most winnable game of the 4 pitching match-up wise, Francis and Jimenez are most likely gonna OWN us.
