That's game.

Terrible PK + Terrible Goalie + Offense that doesn't score nearly as much as it should = Disaster

Holy crap what a 3rd period.

This is why you don't give up like sportsfan does every game for all his teams.

It's 3-1.  In the 2nd period.
At the point I made the post it was 3-0. Good call but don't act like this crap happens every day. First time in 2 years that they have came back from being down by 3 and won.   :worship:

I knew we were superior to that trash ass Penguins team. They rely on penalties and crap like that to win. The Caps are unbeatable if they stay out of the box and get average goaltending.

What a game. It had everything. Ovechkin trying to take Malkins head off. He will one of these days. Even if the game was 8-0 I wouldnt have turned it off just because Ovechkin was gonna keep trying to get him.  Even so Malkin got knocked down like 5 or 6 times tonight.  The Mike Green hip check to break up the rush was icing on the cake.  Imagine if the Caps had Brashear tonight.  Gotta love Matt Bradley's willingness to fight, the ability... not so much.  Gets his face pummelled comes back has a couple of chances. Gordon of all people getting the game winner.

I dont know if it is because these games are relatively meaningless compared to last year, but even down 3-0, I wasnt worried. We have SO much firepower.

What a night! The Cpas tied it at the same time United went ahead. So much channel flipping

Malkin looked dead near the end of the game.

He and Ovechkin DO NOT like each other. This could be fun for a long time.  To hell with Ovechkin/Crosby. Ovechkin/Malkin is much more interesting

Definitely. That was awesome. I've never seen AO so fired up and in full kill mode like that. Any time Malkin was in his sight AO cleaned him out.

Quote
Ovechkin, last year's scoring champion, and Malkin, the runner-up to Ovechkin, were Russian Olympic teammates and friends at Torino in 2006, but they've since become rivals who play with an unaccustomed physicality when they oppose each other, often going out of their way to try to deliver a big hit on the other.

"Ovechkin is a great player, but every time he hits me -- I don't know why," Malkin said.

Ovechkin's explanation?

"It's just a hockey game. I hit hard with everybody," Ovechkin said, although he rarely gets involved in the defensive end in most games.

I figured you enjoyed it. That third period was one of the most exciting periods of hockey that I've seen in quite a while.

Definitely. Green's hit near the end was as clutch as they come. I'm surprised he wasn't hurt on that one.

This is definitely too early to be worrying, but where has Ovechkin been? He hasn't had a point in his last two games...

I think he's one of the main reasons we're scoring so much, though. Green has been open A LOT recently b/c they're focusing on Ovechkin.

He looked a little shaky tonight with the puck, same with Backstrom. I think they'll be fine. I'm not worried. Heck, just think about how much more dominant we could be if the top line starts clicking like we know they will.

How about Semin though? Man he is impressive. Nylander is playing fantastic and even Flash is emerging. This team is so loaded from top to bottom it's almost scary.

The only cause for concern is the goaltending, although Theodore played better in the 3rd tonight.  Ovie has only scored in 1 game this season, correct?

You have been experiencing a lot of #2 issues lately.   This will give you good experience for the issues you'll soon be facing with your expanding family.

Couple friends came over to celebrate the news and strangely there was a bunch 40oz Colt 45s. But I said to hell with that and had a 40 of Old English 800. Oh my God. All I remember is finding myself pinning a friend of mine down to the floor and his girlfriend coming over and kneeing me in the face. I woke up this morning and found confetti all over my living room, my pants in the hall, a cartoon character drawn on my leg with a Sharpie (looks like something out of a Super Mario game), and a massive headache and urge to purge. I went to the bathroom to test the vomit factor but every time the gag reflex kicked in, I farted instead.

So to answer your question, no, I don't have a shatting problem except only when Theodore is in goal.

OE800 is a surefire way to end up waking up in a public place sucked, freaked, and tattooed.

But yeah, both JT and BJ have been heart attack goalies for their first 15-20 minutes.  I was at the United game (a thriller in its own right, Liberian reserve player Francis Doe wound up scoring a brace and keeping us alive), and in between throwing beer in the air and directing obscene songs at the Newts, people were cheering every time a Caps update came over the Blackberry telegraph.

Semin could outscore Ovechkin. He gets to play against the second D pairing and has Nylander or Fedorov setting him up.  This all assumes he keeps he head out of his ass now that he is fully healthy.  I dont think that will be a problem though.  I dont know if it is due to Fedorov or the mean streak he developed down the stretch last year and in the playoffs, but he is a totally different player than in the past

He'll come around. The more we win games with less than stellar goaltending and Ovechkin not putting up points, the more I am encouraged
