(sorry if all this Redskins talk pisses any of you off)

I think we have one of the best nickelbacks in Smoot, but we are definitely near the bottom, talent-wise, w/ our top 2 corners. Landry is going to have to play out of his mind this season. It's very possible that he will, though. He's a madman.

Our corners are solid.  Our safety depth is nice with Landry and the underrated Doughty starting, and Schweigart playing the dime position.

Zim just beat out an infield single.

He went 3/10 with 2 doubles for Potomac and so far in 2 games with Columbus he's 2/6 with an RBI Double.

I really hope he ends up being a .300 hitter for us someday.

Yeah, our CBs aren't ideal. Does Springs have anything left in the tank?

Remember when I was talking about Clippard's change-up in that "Favorite Moments" thread?

He does but the chassis is fragile.

Bergey shows Redding what a real pitcher looks like.  His ERA is under 4 now, and he is pitching better than anyone on the team.  I can see Bergey as our future ace.

Oh yeah. That was AZ-esque though.

His football IQ is what makes him great, IMO. He's not a burner anymore, but he can cover the short routes and hit w/ the best of 'em. He'll probably be our nickelback or safety by season's end.

Bergmann has been very solid since his return and since he simplified his delivery but as usual eagleskins strayed from Sanity Avenue and returned to Moron Way by saying Bergmann is a future ace. :?

I do like that pitch a lot, but I don't worship it.

Leonard Davis just hit an RBI Triple scoring Luis Jimenez! Columbus takes a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the 6th.

Why not?  He has better stuff than Lannan and he is young.  He has been on an absolute tear of late.

That crap happens too frequently in minor league ball (and in winter ball also).

The CFer for the other team caught a pretty deep fly and then dropped the ball on the transfer to the hand. Zim scored pretty easily.

He doesn't have better stuff. It's just harder stuff.

Nice hit Belly. 3 runs against Hudson is excellent for this team. If stubborn ass Manny had started Lannan or Bergmann we would be winning right now.

I agree that he has been outstanding lately. And he has good stuff. I don't think Lannan is much more than a #3 starter (ideally) but Bergmann isn't much more than a #3 at best. Studs are studs from a very young age.

Well we got one more run off Hudson. Redding is a nag.

You don't know that.
