He would have hacked at both of those before his injury.

Does he moonlight as a HS ump?

I haven't seen him around for several years, but I just started coaching (3b/hitting) HS again after about 8 years off.  I remember being shocked to find out he was an MLB ump.  I know he still does some, though, because every time he's at a Marlins game, you can here all the HS coaches getting all over his @$$.

We have quite a few MLB umps that live around here.  A lot of them work at the Bucky Dent Baseball Academy and other clinics. The only one I really know at all is Ed Rapuano.

Kearns misses too many of those.
Yeah, that 3-1 pitch was the one to hit but Kearns was way in front of it.

Webb may be done.  At 95 pitches.  We'll have a bunch of chances against their bullpen.

Well, lets give it up for Shell, who pitched pretty good. No runs.

haha AK25 flops just like WMP flops and just like FLOP flops.

You know what's funny?  The Reds were so bad for so many years then we get their retreads (manager included) and now we're so bad.  And it'll be for so many years.

I'm a bit more pessimistic than usual tonight, but that's because I'm ticked off we have all put in so much time, effort and money into this so called MLB product night in and night out.  And we get nothing to show for.  Except for - as I said - "the main event" the president's race.

I'm not surprised only 9,000 people watch this team.

^although I think the Nats on Comcast SportsNet HD would be much better.

We have had countless opportunities to score against Webb but in every clutch situation we have choked.

Webb's last 4 starts against us including tonight: 30 IP 23 H 1 R 1 ER 6 BB 31 K (0.30 ERA, 0.97 WHIP)
