Parking for game
« Topic Start: July 08, 2008, 01:29:29 PM »
Will be going to the stadium Friday and was curious as to whether any of the board members had thoughts about parking at RFK and taking the NATs Express. Does the bus run frequently? Or is it better to park at one of the stadium recommended pay sites. Thanks, Bill

The buses run frequently to and from the game, it's a decent option except when DC United is having a home game at RFK, in which case they use LOt 7 on the opposite side of the stadium, and it's a very long ride.

On a Friday evening, Metro is an excellent option as well.  What direction are you coming from?

The Metro option:
You can drive in 9 to 7 to 267 (Greeway, Dulles Toll Road) to 66, then exit to the East Falls Church Metro station.  Usually on a Friday afternoon there are spaces available.  Take the Metro to L'Enfant Plaza, where you switch to the Green line and go two more stops to Navy Yard station, which is a mere 1 minute walk to the entrance of Nats Park.  You emerge, and there she is, shining like an opal.

I suggest Metro, because driving in to DC on a Friday gets you bound up in the incoming party/dinner crowd, and traffic can get bogged down.  Inbound 66, and the 395 to SE / SW Freeway gets heavy, though not unbearable.
