I was just looking at some comparables on Baseball Prospectus for Elijah Dukes, not that they mean very much.  But some guys that Dukes is projecting towards include in his top 20:  Barry Bonds, Jose Canseco, Adam Dunn, Bernie Williams, and Bobby Bonilla.  Interesting.  (also in his top 20 is Austin Kearns  :? and Ryan Klesko)

How come Manny doesn't bunt in situations with man on first and second 0 outs? Is it cause no one can bunt?

I'm sure in that instance he would say it was because he had his "clean up hitter" at the plate :?

This loss is solely on Manny.  Colome and Luis should be cutting grass and not used in clutch situations.

Put him on the MOUND... NOW!  Instead of intentional walks, he can be COUNTED on to HIT the batter.

Why is Flores pulling back on so many pitches, second guesses himself so much

Flores looks like crap.

This game turned south for the Nats on Lopez' piñata swing. Lopez is an albatross and we need to cut him off from our neck.

Awful loss.  Our bullpen is horrific.  Has cost us our last 3 losses solely.

Losing pitcher: Jesus Colome.  His year-to-date WHIP 1.69 and ERA 5.80.  The only reason he's still in MLB is that he has 37 K's in 40.1 innings pitched.

Jesus needs to spend 40 days and 40 nights in the desert.

i'm not even gonna dwell on this INFURIATING loss...

i'm gonna focus on Elijah Dukes BEASTLINESS. THE BEAST UNLEASHED AGAIN, AND HIT HIS 3RD HOMER IN 4 GAMES! i just smh at his strength. Dukes is going on a rampage and i pity any pitchers that stand in his way. 30 homers by seasons end is a STRONG POSSIBILITY. dukes is a powerful phenom.

Dukes is BY FAR the best player on this team, even when Zimmerman comes back, Dukes will still be the most talented on the team.

Dukes > Nationals.

This post made me even sadder... nothing against Elijah, idk why but it made the loss that much worse to hear AZ make pathetic attempts at cheerfulness.

Honestly, hats off to AZ because he is the most optimistic person I probably know (even though I don't)... I could never be that optimistic.

Colome and Ayala are two of the worst relievers in the NL in all seriousness.

I love how we stranded so many runners too. Awesome. Leadoff double early in the game with no outs and we get nothing. Runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs in the 8th and they get nothing. This team has completely mailed it in. I hope we get swept. They deserve the embarrassment.

I figured out a LONG time ago that if either sportsfan882 or Air Zimmerman disappeared, the Earth would tilt 45 degrees on its axis, and the Space Time Continuum would go spiraling out of control.  They balance the baseball books.  Otherwise, dogs and cats would mutate and A-Rod would quit baseball to enter the priesthood.

Dukes > Nationals.

You've felt this way all along. It says nothing about Dukes and everything about you. This is why most don't respect you or listen to you.

i knew someone would interpret it the wrong way. it just means Dukes is outperforming the Nationals and is the only one worth watching anymore. Basically, it means Dukes is the best player on the team.

Lannan had a decent outing but it could have been better. Too many walks to poor hitters and the inability to get the third out in the 6th hurt him. Those 2 out RBI hits are daggers. In the past Lannan has been great at stranding runners but over his last two starts he has been Redding-esque in terms of giving up 2-out RBI hits.

SMH? Suck my ... oh dear.

Although I have to agree with AZ here, again. And JMUAlumni: Let's hope Dukes' projection to Bonds and Canseco is indeed correct, except without the, uh, personality troubles. And chemicals.

We have to make some moves with the bullpen.  Get rid of bums like Colome, Luis, Sanches, etc.  We need to be proactive, and not standing still.
