We needed to move Young over to 3rd. Of course it would take a double to do that :?

Any other player in the majors goes to 3rd on that.

Carpenter: "need we say, no lead is safe in this ball park?"

spidernat: "need we say, Carpenter, shut the freak up!"

It kind of makes sense when Dukes does the hand off thing while rounding third on homers (ex-football player and all), but why does Willie?

you know, I really like the little "hand off" HR celebration.  it is simple, it's not flashy or showboaty, and it still has some meaning.

3 runs (for us) = 12 runs w/ Lannan on the mound.

It's a Dukes, Milledge, and Willie thing, I think.

A tribute to Riggo.

as a Giants fan, that's not quite what I was thinking, but it could work.

I was thinking more along the lines of the Coach "handing" the player the "ball" so he can "take it to the house".  sort of a symbolic thing.

I don't care if the Reds score 2 this inning, Lannan HAS to pitch next inning.

It gives Tim Tolman some actual worth (handoff guy for celebration)

well then it SHOULD be a team thing.

Lannan is nibbling.

Hairston is hitting lefties by well over .400.  The hit and RBI were more nails in Randy Claire's coffin.  He steals LOTS of bases now, another reason NOT to WALK him, Randy...
